Oakfold Design
I design memorable logos and brand identity from my studio in West Yorkshire.
I work with clients to improve their business through distinctive, original and considered design.
Supertall a new sky scraping font I’ve been working on. Tall, condensed, square. A page filling beast.
Lettering script lettering. Here’s the sketch and the finished script lettering. I haven’t done script in a while and I thought I’d try doing a narrow set.
This was a fun one to draw.
Great to be a part of this project for the bradford 2025 City of Culture bid. All the effort from everyone involved paid off!
A Wordmark logo for our supper club. This was made last week on an adobe live stream.
Four Corks is a small group of friends who love to cook, drink and eat. For each supper club, we pick a country and design a feast featuring the food, drinks and music of that country.

I made it into Typodarium 2022 calendar with my handwritten font - Take Note. 🥳🥳
#2022
My good friends Matt and Ben Pedley have started their own landscaping and garden design business - . Not only are they two of the nicest people you are likely to meet, but their work is always well designed, well-considered and extremely well finished.
I wanted this to be reflected in the Pedley logo, bringing friendly vintage vibes and a colour palette of denim & dirt.
CODO MONO is my latest font. Really excited to see how you use it

Yes Mush!
What a great day doing my first mural. It was a little harder than I expected but with great advice from and help with cleaning up the edges from it turned out great.
The reaction from people passing was awesome, I must have heard “yes mush” at least 100 times.
Thanks to for asking me to get involved. If you’re in bradford go check out all the other murals being made across the city centre for
HSS vintage style monogram.
I finally managed to get my hands on the back issue of featuring the Diversity typeface I helped build for and
Seeing a font in print is very satisfying.

This was an exploration of logotype design, creating a logo per day.

Branding and packaging design for luxury gin.
The touch and feel of your packaging is just as I’m portent as the design. It’s the difference between a bland brand and a standout brand.
To get the premium look I like to start with an uncoated, textured paper for the touch. Use some spot colour print. Then add a hot foil print for more touch and a little shine to catch your eye.
There’s always time for brush style calligraphy
I've always enjoyed brush lettering, especially a dry brush. This is poster design I made a few years ago when I was screen printing.

Adget Sans has been updated on and now has a variable weight version as part of the family.
I was bored of always using Montserrat and Gotham so I made a geometric sans serif font.
It's not been an easy year, but normality is on the horizon. 🎉🎉

I have been making a logo per day as part of an extra challenge to go with 36 Days of Type. So each letter is also part of a logo or logotype.
Here is a selection of what I’ve designed so far...
Kate Bakes logo design
Made using my new Take Note font.
We are well into a third lockdown in the UK. Other than work or the occasional trip to a supermarket, there is very little left to do. We are all Zoom fatigued, running out of jobs to do around the house and now starting on the super-niche TV shows after completing Netflix.
To mark my boredom (and for something to do) I designed a logotype and icon. My challenge was to design with no planning or preparation, which is absolutely not my usual way of working, just to see what comes out - totally freestyled it out and it seems like I made a boutique fashion brand.
There are some elements to this logotype that represent my current lockdown state quite well; the whole logo is relatively neat and controlled but there are some distinctive wobbles, cracks and a skittishness within.
This was a great project. Custom logo and brand identity for a fired chicken restaurant.
Rounders Chicken logo and brand identity Restaurant logo design and identity for Rounders Chicken. A custom logotype and identity created for a restaurant making fantastically original fried chicken dishes.
A set of guidelines are the finishing piece to a brand identity project to ensure consistency for the brand and marketing.
I’ve given Adget Sans a well overdue update. Featuring 10 weights from thin to heavy, refined glyphs, better kerning and more language support 🎉

I always enjoy seeing how things are made, so here’s a short video of how I made an uppercase M.
This is for a brand identity I’m working on for a client. They want classy and vintage premium, my instinct was to start by making a serif logotype.
Some years ago I lead in the creation and development of a brand identity for an exciting new gin brand.
