Tap Into Abundance Imagine a life where you were not restricted by your financial position. A life where you had more than you could ever need. A life where financial stress was a thing of the past and abundance flowed to you.

There is no need to be afraid of herbs as long as you do your due diligence. Of course, if you are ever uncertain, get a second opinion! There are lots of herb ID youtube videos, reddit forums, books and experts that will help you with plant ID and suggestions on how to use herbs safely.

Do love cleavers. Little did I know as a kid, tagging each other with the herb as it's so sticky that I'd be using it medicinally years later.

Yesterday I gathered some Cleavers (Galium aparine). It’s also known as ‘Sticky Willy’, ‘Goose Grass’, ‘Catch Weed’ and ‘Beggar Lice’ and is a wonderful lymphatic tonic. If you’re suffering from swollen glands, lymphoedema, skin break outs or repeated bouts of tonsillitis then you probably have an overloaded lymphatic system (often accompanied by weak digestion). You’ll need to look to your diet and lifestyle to get to the root cause, for example cutting out rich fatty foods and improving your water intake, but Cleavers is an excellent support to the lymphatic system whilst you’re making the necessary changes.

Since, according to Tibetan medicine, the inner working of our bodies directly affects our experience of the world around us, a clogged and over loaded lymphatic system is very often accompanied by a sense of ‘being stuck’ and feeling stagnant. We may find ourselves surrounded by clutter (physically and emotionally) and not have the energy and motivation to sort it out.

Taking Cleavers will bring new energy and motivation alongside clearer skin, less water retention and other health benefits. Many of my patients have told me that they completely de-cluttered their houses and found new direction and motivation in their lives when they began to take Cleavers.

Cleavers is widely available in a hedgerow near you. Happy gathering (and de-cluttering)! .

Lovely dandelions

🌼💛 “Hello, I'm a dandelion.
A lot of people call me a w**d but I'm a friend and come to help you!

My flowers are the first food for insects after hibernation and unlike most other plants, I have pollen AND nectar, not merely one OR the other! And I am generous with them! 🤪😉
When you see me, remember that I'm the ONLY one who wants and can grow in that particular spot. Because:
Either the soil is too compact / hard / stomped and I want to loosen it for you with my roots.
Or there is too little calcium in the soil - don't worry, I will replenish that for you with the dying of my leaves.
Or the soil is too acidic. But I will also improve that for you if you give me the chance.
Or a mixture of the above reasons, of course. 😊
I'm here because your soil needs my help so best you let me grow without disturbing me! When everything is fixed, I will disappear again, I promise!
Are you trying to remove me prematurely with my root? However meticulous you are, I will return 2x as strong! Just until your soil is improved.
You can even tell by my growth at which stage my help is at. If my leaves are flat on the ground then I'm far from ready but if they all reach up then I'm already a long way on my way.
Something completely different is that I am 1 of the first bloomers in spring so I will announce spring / summer for you.
During the day when it's hot, I open my flowers but in the evening when it cools off I close them again quickly. In fact, if it's not hot enough during the day I won't open them at all!
My flowers are even delicious for you people by the way, did you know? I used to be called ′′honey (or gold) of the poor′′ because my flowers are so sweet in e.g. jam, sauce or salad! The internet is full of recipes - check them out.

But wait until the end of May or later before you start picking and even then, don't pick everything yet! The biodiversity and bees will be very grateful!”

Had a wonderful day at the Herbal Apothecary with all the other Herbal Medicine students from Lincoln College (UK)

Yesterday we opened our doors to nearly 30 students and staff from Lincoln College (UK). The students are currently studying for a BSc in Clinical Herbalism. During their 4 hours visit we gave the group a comprehensive tour of our manufacturing facility. We talked them through our stringent quality control measures, discussed use of our HPLC machine and other lab equipment. We explained how we work with herbalists and our contract manufacturing clients and what the future holds for Herbal Apothecary.

Course lecturer Katie Dobiesz MNIMH Medical Herbalist said "We had an amazing time. The students were so impressed with the QA and QC and the fantastic range of products you have. They can’t wait to come again. Thank you."

We met Katie at the National Institute of Medical Herbalists Power of Plants Festival last summer, so it was fantastic to see our plans for a visit become reality. It was the first time in the history of Herbal Apothecary that such a large group were given 'behind the scenes' access. But we believe that being open and transparent about what we do and how we do it is the best way to foster constructive relationships with our customers.

We're looking forward to hosting more groups in the future, with an open day for practitioners in the works, as well as an open day for the general public. More details coming soon!

Love Rose essential oil and rose petals in a blend in tea.

I regularly work with Rose as medicine in my clinic. It has a special affinity to the heart, relaxing it and helping us to feel more open. Perhaps this is why Roses have always been associated with love.

On this Valentine’s Day, let’s celebrate love of all kinds - whether that’s the love that’s shared between two humans, the love between humans and their animal companions; or the unconditional love that we aim to radiate out to all beings.

When we’re considering love, we shouldn’t forget to extend it to ourselves too. Our lives are so precious and so full of positive potential, we really need to be kind to ourselves. If we extend kindness and love towards ourselves, as well as others, we’ll be able to take care of our health better and make the most of the positive opportunities that life offers us. Caring for ourselves enables us to better care for others.

Today, is the day of love, so whatever our ‘relationship status’, let’s celebrate that we have the capacity to love, to be empathetic and compassionate and to live in harmony with our fellow beings.

❤️🌹❤️
