Psychotherapy, Conscious Connected Breathwork and Embodied Movement embracing the body-mind connection with Lucy Fredman, relational body psychotherapist with over 25 years experience.
We are all products of our upbringing and it'sa so easy to unconsciously get caught up in reenacting old patterns.
This is why I feel so passionate about Dance of Awareness - an embodied movement practice that can help you understand how your childhood experiences have shaped you and to let go of self-limiting patterns that are no longer serving you.
The Dance of Awareness cycle takes you through a dynamic movement journey that invites you to consciously connect with your body and explore developmental themes from early childhood. When you engage with your unconscious early conditioning - especially at an embodied level - powerful change becomes possible and you start to have more choice about how you are living your life.
If this interests you, come join me for 'BECOMING', a 1-day Dance of Awareness workshop that explores how you became the way you are and who you want to become NOW.
Date: 10th November, 10.30am -5.30pm
Venue: Findhorn Village Centre, IV36 3YR
Cost: £95 (2 concessionary places at £75)

I’m delighted to be offering this workshop again after 5 long years! It’s been quite a journey to get here and rather than just jump straight into promoting the workshop, I feel moved to provide some context and say a bit about my personal process.
Between 2018-20, I created and ran a series of 1-day Dance of Awareness workshops:
BECOMING - exploring the early influences that shaped how you came to be the way you are or your ‘becoming’.
UNBECOMING - Letting go of who you are not by softening the ‘armouring’ or your embodied defences .
BEFRIENDING - learning to be with and accepts the parts of yourself you struggle with.
These workshops were well attended, the feedback was great and I was due to run a residential Dance of Awareness workshop for the Findhorn Foundation in March 2020 when the pandemic hit - and we all know what happened next. In 2021, just as everything was beginning to start up again, I was knocked back by my own serious health issues followed by my son’s life-threatening physical and mental health issues. As a result, this aspect of my work got kicked into the long grass for the next 4 years.
This March, I’d planned to offer ‘Becoming’ but encountered yet another setback due to a family bereavement and had to postpone. All in all, it’s been a long old road to get back on track with where I last left off with Dance of Awareness. I’m totally chuffed that this year I have finally been able to start offering this practice again. Initially with holding three DoA Waves over the Summer, and now I’m looking forward to providing an opportunity for a deeper dive with ‘Becoming’.
So a heartfelt invitation to come and reconnect with Dance of Awareness if you came to past workshops... or experience for the first time what this rich embodied movement practice has to offer.
If you’ve got this far (thank you for your attention), here’s the info at last on the workshop!

Next Dance of Awareness Wave is on Saturday 28th September. Here's what a participant said of the last class:
'Lucy's presence was welcoming, inclusive and clear throughout the class, which created a sense of safety for creative and deeply felt movement exploration. She led the class through a model for
experiencing and expressing movement based on developmental stages and within that offered specific themes and prompts. Participants were encouraged to respond with movement in their own ways and timing.I would recommend Lucy’s workshops to anyone who wants to experience developmental movement in a deeper way in order to understand themselves better and to increase their movement choices.' Loved holding the Conscious Connected Breathwork group last Friday. Thanks to all who came and went on a deep dive. This was the centrepiece in the room. As I made the playlist, the theme of water kept coming in…tracks about the sea, rivers, water in all its forms…so went with the flow 💦🌊🐳💦
Happy to be restarting the Conscious Connected Breathwork Groups again in Findhorn soon! 😊Future dates throughout the Autumn:
• 27th September
• 18th October
• 15th November
• 13th December
I have just come back from Estonia having participated in an amazing 7-day intensive training in Biodynamic Breathwork Trauma Release System (BBTRS). It brings together all the threads I’ve spent many years training in - Connected Breathwork, Reichian bodywork, Somatic Trauma therapy principles, embodied movement, touch and sound - into one of the most powerful approaches I have ever experienced. Despite long days (Osho meditations starting at 7am and sessions finishing at 7pm) I was amazed at how energised and resourced I felt throughout the week and since I got back and started working again. I am very grateful to have been able to do this training which has been on my radar since I read Giten Tonken’s book ‘Feel to Heal’ (highly recommended!) and I’m super excited about intergrating all I have learned into my Breathwork practice ❤️🙏🏻❤️
***** The monthly breathwork groups are restarting in August! *****

In times of transition, there is a natural tendency is to rush to rebirth, quickly back into the known, in an urgent attempt to cure, maintain, or heal that which is dying. It is so ordinary, so human, so precious really to resist falling apart and privilege putting it all back together.
But it is only within the womb of death that re-birth can emerge.
The invitation of the night world, spinning out of the slowness and depth – in moments of vision, imagination, and dream – is to not abandon death for it is the seed of life. To not short-circuit the order within the disorder and to remember that rebirth is not possible without embodied attunement to the process of dissolution, which is one of immense creativity.
Allow the death some time to unfold, to share its poetry and its fragrance, which is not partial, but of a light that is whole. During times when things are being rearranged inside and around us, we can tend to what is truly being asked: whether it is to cure death and reassemble the known, or to provide safe passage for the forms to reorganize in more integrated and cohesive ways.
May we honor the forms of love as they come into our lives – the people, the work, the hopes, and the dreams – taking the risk to allow it all to matter, to touch us, as we wander into the mystery. But equally allow them to dissolve so that new forms may emerge, for this dissolution is holy and is what will enchant our world with new vision.
To bear witness to the unfolding and cycling of form as a creative act of the beloved. At times dancing, playing, and turning around the stars. At other times, tending to a broken heart and the shattering of the known. Each an equally illumined aspect of the journey as we engage the sacred return.
A new offering of a Dance of Awareness Wave - a great way to find out what this powerful embodied movement practice has to offer.

I love this beautiful poem by Jeff Foster.
It dropped into my inbox this morning on his newsletter. It made me think there are many ways we can do this inner work of meeting those dark places inside us with self-compassion and love. One of the most direct and poewerful ways that I have discovered is the practice of Conscious Connected Breathwork. I love that in one of the lines he reminds us to 'Breathe' ❤️
“Be gentle. You are slowly bringing light and love to the dark places inside.
Go slow. You are getting to know forgotten parts of yourself.
There’s no rush. You are meeting energies you spent your life pushing away and denying.
Healing is not a destination. Forgive yourself each day.
You didn’t know how to slow down until now.
You didn’t know how to meet pain. You didn’t know how to face yourself.
Breathe. That’s it.
Healing doesn’t happen all at once. It’s only moment by moment.
It’s only now. And so you can always
begin your life again.”
- Jeff Foster
