Contracted to -
- Remove existing roof
- Construct new joist system to design specifications.
- Construct cut roof
- Build up blockwork gable
- insulate and fit steels internally to support new roof space.

All completed by AJT Construction.

Job well done - creating a huge space for a family to use. Luckily the weather was kind and we managed to get it wrapped up and water tight in 2.5 weeks.

Complete transformation of this garden.
Creating a unique, modern space to allow the bifold doors to be opened making it flow from kitchen - diner into a gorgeous outside area.

Bespoke BBQ area built using CLS batten incorporating a multi fuel burner.

Midnight black sandstone slabs with asphalt jointing compound then an alpine white stone border.

Looking forward to seeing how this garden will mature into next year when the borders have been filled with soft landscaping.

Nearing completion of this garage conversion plus internal re configuration.

☑️The garage has been converted into a bedroom plus a downstairs toilet/ shower room.

☑️Whilst inside the property we have converted an old shower room into a large storage room by:
☑️Blocking up a doorway and knocking through
☑️Constructing bespoke wardrobes to fit the space perfectly therefore allowing access to the boiler without having pipes on show.

Still to come;
🔜Shaker style doors to be fitted
🔜Flooring to be tiled
🔜Walls to have panelling fitted to match shaker doors
🔜Sink unit to be fitted with tiled backsplash.

We’ve had a busy summer,

House renovation in progress, still a few more jobs in the pipeline for the client before this one is completed.

Previous work contained removal of load bearing walls to create a more open plan area plus the construction of a stud wall to allow an extra bedroom.

Extension to the rear of the property to allow for an open plan kitchen diner with natural light coming in from the large sky lantern and bifold doors.

Parquet oak flooring laid throughout and then the showstopper of a kitchen!

Foundation fully insulated with concrete screed pour
Concrete block superstructure with two layers of insulation internally and externally
Siberian larch t&g cladding (this was the chosen material to incorporate the building with its green surroundings)
Flat roof with EPDM fitted to create a comfortable watertight roof
Bespoke Hardwood Sapele double glazed sidelight
Aluminium bifold doors
(Inside to be plastered plus 2nd fix electrics + spot lights fitted into soffit board. Photos will come once completed)

The client has praised us for the craftsmanship involved with this build, it was a design and build contract and they are very pleased with the outcome as we suggested the timber cladding instead of brickwork. Personally the look of this office is very attractive and I don’t think the overall appearance would have been as nice if it were to be constructed using brick.

We love giving ideas and working with the client putting forward our views in order to create bespoke, aesthetic buildings that has the practicality to ensure the targeted use.

Crazy busy at the moment, completing jobs and quoting/ preparing for others coming in.

This garden office is coming together lovely, can’t wait for the finished look of the cladding on it.

When I was younger I was asked what I wanted to do when I left school...

My answer was “to dig deep holes and fill them back up”. Looks like dreams really do come true.

Two projects on the go currently.

- Porch extension brick and block built.

- Bespoke flat roof garden office block built with Siberian larch cladding, bifold doors and EPDM roof installed. All fully insulated, heated plus electric to enable use all year round.

Check out this garden seating area constructed from block and timber, all works completed by AJT from groundwork’s through to running electricity.

The clients were super pleased with the final outcome as they gave us free rain on various aspects of the job, so was unsure on how the finished item would look. The clients have also asked for more work to be priced and completed so that for us is a bonus and it proves we’ve impressed.

This week AJT have been working on an out-house/ pergola, construction materials are regular block with a shou sugi ban timber cladding.

The process “shou sugi ban” is a method of preserving the wood with fire, meaning low maintenance for numerous years.

Midway through this job so keep your eyes out for the completed pictures.
