Dear All
I am absolutely delighted to let you know that Lavenham has been chosen for the Sunday live national broadcast of the The Jubilee Big Lunch picnic!
Some pre-recording filming will be happening next week in the village. I may be in touch with some of you very soon!!!
I want to say a huge thank you to the rest of the committee of the Lavenham Jubilee Weekend 2022. They have all been so incredibly generous with their time and worked so hard. Also a huge thank you to those in the village who have sponsored the event, worked hard at putting things together and especially those sewing endless bunting!!
To local businesses please can you start decorating, as they will be filming next week.
I also must say a huge thank you to The Lavenham Parish Council, especially the support from our new Chair Irene Mitchell, Iain Lamont, Paul Thompson and Jane Bellwood.
Well done Lavenham! Now let’s show the nation what a wonderful village we are and how to celebrate!!!
Hello Lavenham
Do we have any Royal connections on Lavenham ? Have you or any of your family worked for the Queen? Has any resident been involved in the Coronation or other Jubilee events? Do we have any MBE or CBE or similar on the village? I know about Doreen Twitchett. Any veterans from the Second World War?
Please can you contact me if you have any personal stories about the Queen or Royal events?
Please can you contact me asap. Thank you!
Good Morning!
Firstly, can I say a huge thank you to all the lovely volunteers who helped deliver the leaflets around the village. If you didn’t receive a leaflet please contact me. We did our best, and boy some of you have some brutal letterboxes! 😊
Secondly, apologies for the typos on the leaflet, sadly it was too late to change them. Despite my embarrassment, one kind lady told me the Greeks see this kind of thing as good luck. So I will run with that! Let’s hope the luck is lots of lovely weather over the Jubilee Weekend.
If you would like to book a table for The Big Lunch on Sunday 5th June, please get in touch.
A reminder that you’re welcome to bring a picnic or The Angel will be providing a BBQ, Freddie at Tatums Tearoom is taking pre-orders for hampers, which can be collected on the day. The Great House will also be providing refreshments.
There will be live music, and a magic show plus balloon modelling for the children. Watch this space for possible extra entertainment. Please feel free to dress up in something regal or red white and blue! 😊🇬🇧👑♥️🤍💙
Jubilee Update!
This week our kind volunteers will be delivering leaflets around the village. Please look out for them and read through the itinerary and information.
Please note. We will not be taking bookings until Monday 25th April, as we want to give everyone time to receive their leaflet. (All will be delivered by Sunday PM).
Again, can I remind everyone the table bookings are only available to residents only. If anyone else would like a table there will be a waiting list.
