Friday treat. Freak & Unique going on V60 filter today and tomorrow.

This edition of Freak & Unique, the tiny production specials from Hundred House roasters is from the San Adolfo farm in Elias, South Huila, Colombia. A tangerine dream, and perfect for making with V60 to preserve the flavours and expression of place.

On by the glass today. Malinga Sauvignon Blanc, an innovative twist on a classic grape.

Christoph Heiss is making amazing wines at his family winery in Kamptal, Austria. Sauvignon Blanc isn’t very widely grown around there and this one was made by picking early, fermenting on skins for 13 days and including some whole bunches for bigger fruit flavours. Christoph also added 15% of local grape Welschriesling for a little extra acidity. Bottled unfined and unfiltered and with the tiniest addition of sulphur.

GlouWein, our take on mulled wine made with a Sicilian organic red and secret recipe syrup (known only to ) will be on the menu at PetitGlou this week to refresh you and warm you whether you’re still working or have finished for Christmas and are getting in some shopping and socialising or making some me-time.

PetitGlou is open Tuesday to Friday including late night shopping on Wednesday. With our famous boards of hyper-local cheese and cured meat, focaccia from thr GlouGlou kitchen and many more treats besides there is something to cheer even the most jaded Christmas is humbug believer.

And as it’s Christmas we could easily be persuaded to open some special bottles to serve by the glass.

We have some homely comforts for you to enjoy and just the summer wine to wash it all down with.
Holding the culinary fort, we have the classics: Cheese and Pickle Toasties, Balsamic Mushrooms on Toast and Bruschetta.
