A selection of photo taken by Jez Poller on Saturday at Sherbun
After the disappointment of the Fishburn race weekend being cancelled due to the weather, all eyes were on the forecast for this weekend and the Prestigious King's Cup at Sherburn in Elmet. Saturdays race was for the Steward's Cup, blustery conditions made for a challenging race. Coming home in 1st place was Martin Gosling in race 25 followed by Jonathon Willis in race 1 and 3rd place was Dave Moorman in race 22.
Sunday was a more settled day with the wind for the big race, The coverted King's Cup . A close finish saw Jonathon Willis in 1st place. John Kelsall and navigator Ian Scarbrough race 15 in 2nd place and Martin Gosling in 3rd place. Many thanks to all at the Sherburn Aero Club for hosting the event, Club Chairman Simon Cook for presenting the trophies, Dave Salt for assisting with our ground crew and many thanks to all the staff of the Digby's cafe diner for the excellent food and drinks throughout the weekend.
