As one door closes another opens β€οΈπβ€οΈπβ€οΈ
Welcoming you into the weekend, stepping into a calmer, relaxed version of yourself. What doors are you opening and closing at the moment?!
This week I've started a new uni module πͺ closing the door to another module and bringing me a little closer to getting my Masters in advanced physio. It's slow and steady, and at times I want to shut the door on it all completely! π But my love of learning and physio keeps me going π€
If you are struggling to step through the the next door...remind yourself why you started on the first place π
"Embrace the ebb and flow of your journey, as there is no practice run. This is your beautiful life, there are no returns.
So accept the flow of your journey, and smile at the hands of time.
As you write your beautiful story line by line."
Beautiful words from M.Korach
Our lovely yogi Tony Gillam Music is playing over summer locally!
I'll be heading there on the Saturday 3rd August if anyone fancies supporting and joining :)
Here's another update on my forthcoming gigs for the summer. Playing in a doughnut shop will definitely be a first for me! It's exciting to be part of both The Three Choirs Festival and MalvernRocks FestivalofMusic again.
It's holiday time! Again π ππ (and a gentle reminder that you never need to justify taking a break, saying no, or taking the right action for your own mind and body)
Before I go it's my Time out Tuesday tonight and there's a few spaces still available if you are in need of some time out this evening. 7.45-9pm Memorial Hall πΌ
A gentle yoga class, breathwork and guided relaxation to finish. Β£10 or included in your monthly Energise Yoga membership.

Spring rituals πΈπΌπΌπΈ and spring wreaths! Did you know...
πΈwreaths were prevalent in the ancient traditions of the Greek, Roman and Persian empires wreaths were often worn as headdresses made of a variety of materials including flowers, olive leaves, laurel, even fabric and jewels.
πΈwreaths have also symbolized nature and have been used to honour the return of the sun and the promise of spring
πΈwreath is the circle or ring shape being symbolic of eternity or eternal life, because the shape has no beginning or end.
P.S Big thanks to everyone who came last week to my spring wreath and yoga workshop - I hope your new wreath has found it's new home and brings you good energy for the spring!
πΈπΌπΈ Winnie & Olive
And whenever
she starts to forget
the story of her original bloom,
the flowers of this green earth remind her
she too will spring up from the ground
again.
Gravity will not restrain her,
for the sun and rainfall
will propel her
up
from gritty soil
into open morning air,
and Light will meet her there
and she will
begin
to unfold
in the way
she is meant to.

Mental health awareness week ππͺπ½ππ»ββοΈ
This year is all amount moving for mental health and it's a theme that is so close to my every day values and life! In both my work as a physio and yoga teacher 'movement it medicine!' πππ»ββοΈ
What I do to support my mental health
πͺπ½ MOVE - even if its just being outside, a short walk, the gym or a bit of yoga. Every day - movement is key on feeling stronger, living longer and improving mental health. FACT! It's so easy to do and it doesn't need to be complicated.
π BOUNDARIES - Continuing to pause before saying yes...in order to say no and enforce boundaries with myself and other - something that is still new to me and takes work!
π NUTRITION - there is more research emerging on the impacts of mental health and food/diet. For me cooking is part of life and something I love. It 100% influences how I feel, my energy and my mental health. More lovely receipes incoming soon!
π YOGA- one of my yogis asked me if I practiced everyday and I said no! Between 2 physio jobs, teaching yoga and a part time masters doing a class of yoga every day just doesn't work for me. But I do something for my mental health every day, Whether it's breath work, journalling, meditation or some short yoga practices.
π THOUGHT WORK - questioning the conditioned beliefs and thoughts and asking myself is it helpful, is it true, is it kind? (Thanks to ) for this!
What are you doing this week to support your mental health?! ππππͺπ½π
β¨βYour journey begins with a single step. Each day, take one small step forward and soon youβll find yourself miles away from where you started.β β Lao Tzu,β¨

Crown chakra and finding bliss practice ππ€π The crown chakra chakra is the final chakra - the 7th chakra. It is also known as Sahasrara. The symbol associated with the Crown Chakra is a lotus flower with a thousand petals. Each petal symbolises a different aspect of our being, and when fully opened, it connects us to the divine consciousness....
β¨βWhile we are trying to make sense of things,
may we learn to make peace with things.ββ¨

Feeling 'safe' πππ through yoga practice β¨ and regulating our nervous system
Without even realising it we can live in a state of fear which drives our nervous system away from a 'rest and digest' state. This could be driven by previous trauma, stress responses, pain, anxiety, or feelings of fear and uncertainty.
Yoga helps to bring the body and mind into a state of 'safety' within our nervous system β¨π
I lived in this state for a long time! Without even realising it it presented physically and emotionally. Yoga has taught me how to find safety within my own body and mind πββοΈ
Earth πππ and root chakra affirmations:
-I am safe
-I am grounded
-I am strong
Thanks to everyone who has joined me this week as we connect to the qualities for the Earth πand welcome in the feeling of safety, connection and calm πππͺπ½
