Songs of Light we will sing tonight. I ll be teaching the choruses/backing vocals of an exquisite repertoire of Venezuelan songs which are part of a very strong and beautiful tradition of winter solstice/ Christmas and New Year.

Journey through the Americas through a wealth of adventide cultures and customs, from locals to immigrants to descendants of the enslaved. Expect gripping tales told by widely acclaimed storyteller Milbre Burch, and lush tones of South American songs from Venezuelan songwriter Luzmira Zerpa. Evening hosted by storyteller Wilf Merttens.

What I want this Christmas is that massacre to stop. Cacicahonta is a powerful Venezuelan artist and friend based in Caracas. She never ceases to ignites more consciousness and being an invitation to a better world

To say how we truly feel, it is not a common or easy practice. Especially if we are not feeling great...still I have a gift for you...Tonada! This style of singing is born with the rise of the sun...in solitude with Nature..this music comes from the immensity of the plains, savanna, llanos. So in the infinite of that magnificent Landscape and in your allowance to give to nature all what troubles you..you find release..expansion..calmness... Lightness who you truly are. Light and lightness

Palestine devastation I have been so sad about it ..I had been feeling totally defeated and powerless, wondering why the only resource some people can use is killing and invading. Truth is that the only possibility here? Is that what our intelligence as human beings can give us? Haven't we done this already? . I finally got up on my feet and I doubled my practice in order to function again such as play music to release pain and make a living and to invite other realities ..sending you love Palestine and to all the people that is on the streets and everywhere asking for this madness to stop. And reminding you if you are on your knees I hug you , I receive you and I invite you to breath in and start again to pray for the miracles we are and we can create

Hope! Hope! Hope!There are many horrible things happening in the world, even in our personal lives. There was the film screening followed by Q&A by the creators of the whole project and .zero We had a drumming and dance circle led by . We had we amazing music by DJ and producer
There was an open mic so enjoyed amazing poems, spoken words and songs. What a wonderful night!! In gratitude to the organisers these people are on it!!!!

Maria Lionza the Queen of nature comes down in spirit with music ( Tambor ) candles, flowers, scents, to***co, rum and Fire. The dance of fire, among many things, is an expression of resistance and power.
The power of our own bodies, the power our relationship to nature and the elements has been the first thing catolisis have erradicated from themselves and others. Making the creator a separate entity from us living on the skay.
El Baile de la Candela ( The fire dance ) defies all of that. Reinvidicate the power of ourselves, the power of our bodies and invite us the receive the power of music and nature.

Today is The Day Of The IMAGINATION. 14 years ago the most famous story teller of my town, went to the rainbows world...to the land of being always alive as El Caimán de Sanare always said.

So today is celebrated The Day Of The IMAGINATION. All the story tellers of the town will be telling stories on the streets, schools, libraries, at home, in the mountains. Even animals and all kind of beings with bodies or not will tell us stories. Trees and plants, the sky and the winds have amazing stories to tell us too.. those stories are of everything there is no limit.

Imagination is creation. What are you gonna create today?

Absolutely happy to be collaborating with my Flawa Family again! This time teaching songs from my homeland specifically from the surreal place I was born in Venezuela
SIng Along with Luzmira Zerpa. Go on a journey to the depth of Venezuelan exquisite folk songs and stories. This workshop will be based on Call and Response. Luzmira comes from a region in Venezuela very well credited for its musicality. In that region there is a vast repertoire of music based on call and response. Luzmira believe that this style of music and singing. where One does not have the pressure to sing a full song but to respond to a call or to a chant in a group it is a best way to unleash your vocal powers.. come an undust your spanish come and be immersed in polymental rhythms come and have fun!!

Singing at home is one of my favourite things Be that space for yourself. Songs, rhythms, melodies, sadness, happiness, they are given a space within you and out of you..Go for it, sing, play dance at home by yourself .

I am very joyful to be narrating and singing for this puppet show about Frida's life, work and home. Celebrating the book launch of Frida Khako by Francisco de La Mora and puppet artist/ art therapist Marta Alonso. We are preparing a glorious afternoon for you and your kids. See you on Sunday.
