Great to see the NG strain settling in at Lofts Lake. This one is really packing on the pounds.

WINTER HARVEST 2023/24 👍🥶
We’re expecting some large weights from the NG Fisheries carp this winter harvest.

We have C6 mirrors and C8 mirrors and commons ranging from upper doubles to 30lb+.

The number of fish available can vary depending on how successful the netting is on the day however, as an estimate, we anticipate approximately 100 - 200 carp will be available.

NG Fisheries have been rearing these carp in our stock ponds since they were babies.

Some of the fish are sparsely scaled, some are heavily scaled and they could grow into absolute giants given their genetic pedigree.

The netting will take place on the 30th November 2023 at our stock ponds in Lincoln, which means there’s only a short window to get your pre-orders in to avoid disappointment.

CARP FOR SALE
We have around 200 carp for sale this winter, mostly 20lb plus, generally plain mirrors.

There are a few under 20lb (15lb-20lb) and a very few 25lb+.

These fish will be 6 summers (plus .5 since they were winter hatched indoors).

The bigger commons are another 2 summers older.

We will be netting twice during the winter harvest, early and late.

We net approx to order, sort the orders out, pen the fish in the lake and get them delivered as soon as we can to avoid prolonged stress and handling.

On the 2nd netting we will take all the excess to our new day ticket waters which are opening next spring 2024.

Great to see how some of the NG strain carp are doing in their new homes.

Mark Holland with a hard fighting NG Fisheries stocky. We’re seeing incredible growth rates from the carp we’ve stocked. This mirror has gone from being stocked at 15lb to weighing 20lb 8oz in a little over 12 months. At this rate it won’t be long until there’s multiple 30’s, 40’s and maybe even 50’s swimming around in Lofts Lake.

Fin McGrath, a keen Maldon Angling Society (M.A.S) member, recently caught these NG Fishery strain mirrors during the Easter weekend. It’s great to see the NG strain carp doing well in their new home.

Did a bit of netting at the NG stock ponds this weekend, mainly to shuffle some fish from stock pond to stock pond, to make room for the next batch of fish to go into our otter fenced and cormorant meshed first pond.
We came across a little disfigured home bred beast, affectionately called Mong so I popped him into my Bayeswater stock pond. We hope that poor old Mong will enjoy his life there in relative peace. He did well to dodge the perch and his parents eating him because we haven’t ever found any other home breeds in that pond, long live the mighty Mong 😂
I couldn’t resist popping 30 of the best C2’s into the Bayeswater stock pond either to grow on ready to bolster the the Bayeswater lakes stock in the next few years.
We’ve added on average 5-7 carp a year into each of the lakes the past few years by bringing small fish on through the Bayeswater stock pond, recently though plainer mirrors, so these little ‘scaly bangers’ will make a pleasant change in the future.
Huge thanks to everyone that helped this weekend, especially Kevin, Simon, Richard, Martin and Neil, who are always there. We can’t do it without help so also huge thanks to the other lads that could only spare a day and to those that wanted a few fish and also got stuck in. Turns a wet, cold, long day into a joy👍
