Such a special night at π€ inviting in the darkness and stillness of winter.
I've been running these Restorative Sessions every month, sometimes x3 a month, for a whole year. Each one is different, and so beautiful in their own way. I couldn't be more grateful π₯Ή thank you all for trusting me and supporting me.
There's often a tear or two. A whole lot of love and space, to just be π€

Had the most INSANE mind/body connection experience yesterday, it's blown my little yogi mind.
Yesterday I went to see the wonderful at .co and honestly what an experience I had.
I told Lara about all the little niggles in my body from training and yoga and from there she carried out an in-depth consultation through physical, visual and verbal assessment. She's so in tune with the body and has mad knowledge!
Anyway we decided on some key areas to work on. I'm not gonna lie it was intense but I felt safe with her and knew I was in good hands.
We worked on neck, rotator cuff hip flexors and my Psoas. The Psoas is known as the muscle of the soul, and I got a wee glimpse of why.
While working on my Psoas, we worked with the breath, and out of nowhere I felt a huge wave of grief rise up. Even if I wanted to, I couldn't have stopped the tears and sobs that followed π I need to stress that this wasn't because it was painful. It's a perfect example of the things I say in class....
-The body keeps the score
-Issues live in the tissues
-The body holds what the mind can not
It was almost like a psychedelic experience honest to God π
Laras care and presence during the emotional release were perfect. I didn't feel embarrassed or weird. She just held space for me in such a sweet, tender way until I was ready to get back to it.
Basically she a witch, and you should go and see her if you're ready to really heal n let go of some s**t ππ€

Tomorrow is a day to focus on the importance of yoga in our lives. This year, the focus is Yoga for Humanity.
Yoga is for everyone, regardless of race, age, gender, social class or otherwise. To honour the theme of this year I'd like to offer classes to anyone who is experiencing financial hardship or are currently unwaged but seek the community and benefits that a yoga class has to offer. If you, or anyone you know are going through a tough time just send me a message on facebook, insta or email [email protected].
It's undeniable how important these practices have been to help cope with the stress, uncertainty and isolation caused by the pandemic.
Its also a day to reflect, what has Yoga done for you over this past year?
I acknowledge the sacred South Asian roots of yoga. I honour traditions through my continous learning of these ancient practices and want to take a moment to acknowledge whats been lost due to colonisation, racism, patriarchy, oppression and exploitation.
Anything that I know or share is not mine, it comes from a long line of students and teachers.
