So after a challenging first 18 months, we've made it through possibly the most challenging part of owning a business.

Starting a business on a budget is always challenging. But with a family run business, everyone chips in in their own way and even the most challenging days always manage to run smoothly.

We have had some reliability issues over the last 6 months, which have lead to some people waiting longer than they should have to receive the services they have requested. One thing I can say however is that it was always worth the wait and everyone was satisfied with the work completed. We have recently completed a long list of new acquisitions to fix this.

As most will now I'm now on my summer break, "playing with boats". But I am still quoting and completing tpo and conservation area applications for the end of nesting season so feel free to get in touch

The winds aren't as strong as they have been through the winter but some trees are significantly heavier and have more wind resistance, with leaves forming and sap rising!

Smashing out the Saturday jobs again yesterday with oak removal in bridgewater.

Nice little narrow access cliff side de-veg project started recently, customer fitted scaffolding under the recommendations of other people that quoted the job... they then never turned up and a few others didn't quote.
The access was awkward but manageable, if you really want it!
As with the time of year a full ecological survey was completed by the team prior to works commencing and as an added measure hand tool where used to remove the first layer of vegetation to allow us better visual access to complete the survey!

Job completed recently, removing some tpo'd Ash trees with dieback.
All tpo applications handled by ourselves.
Was a horrible days and the access was narrow boys put a good shift in to get this lot out in a day! We later returned to grind out the stumps!

We have availability for stump grinding, Saturday the 25th of Feb.
This machine is only 29 inches wide so will fit throught a standard gateway, will require access with minimal stairs or very shorts stairs feel free to get in. Touch!

A decent size willow to pollard, a big bad chipper and a hell of a crew.
The guys really pushed on with this Saturday job, certainly got a good workout!

Leave your high hedges and tree pruning to the professionals and you might end up with something worth looking at!

The tractors are out flailing, and the weather's on the change!

Bird nesting nearly completely finished with the exception of a few stragglers, we have covered most a Devon In the last few weeks and seen a distinct decrease in the number of nest with birds.
We are also seeing an increase in the number of dangerous trees, with some still damaged from the storms earlier this year and some damaged from the heat of summer.

Hedge cutting, tree safety inspections and subsequent tree surgery are all services we can provide.

Exciting day as we've had our new to us chipper delivered today! This bandit model 90 is an older chipper with minimal electrics meaning fewer breakdowns and problems that can't be fixed by ourselves straight away. A reliability that we can pass onto our customers. This chippers allows us to chip 2 logs at a time up to 9.5inch diameter, meaning we can get jobs finished quicker and allow us to make fewer runs to tip logs that can't be chipped. Also a cost saving that we can pass onto our customers.

Some Nice hedges brought back into some sort of shape today after not being touched for a year or so.
Shape will develop with 2 maintenance cuts over the next 6 months. Cut entirely with our new Stihl battery range

Some before and afters of a nice hedge reduction.
Hadn't been touched for a while so went heavy but box and privet recover well!
