Dear Residents,
Did you know that the village green in Flyford Flavell is owned by the Parish Council and managed by a small group of volunteers who make up the village green management group. With an allocated budget, and access to a variety of grants, the management group has further enhanced the green with new trees, a small collection of native worcestershire apple trees, and two new picnic tables ready for the summer. This work has been supported by the gardening group, who have provided the raised beds, wild flower areas and bug hotel, as well as maintaining and improving the hedging.
The management group are keen to hear your ideas on how else we might improve the wonderful facility which we have in our village and we are also very much hoping to recruit new members to the management group. Our next ideas are to provide a dispenser for dog poo bags on the green - there have been a number of concerns recently about dog fouling on the green - and also, if there is enough interest and support, to build a boules ( petanque ) court next to the benches opposite the Boot Inn car park.
Please do let us have your suggestions by contacting David Rhodes, chair of the management group by email at [email protected] and if you would like to join the management group to make any new ideas a reality, that would be great
With best wishes
Flyfords Village Green Management group

WARNING | Farmers are being warned to be extra vigilant following three recent incidents of sheep theft and attempted sheep theft in north Worcestershire.
Officers from our Rural and Business Crime teams have issued the warning following reports that there have been several incidents in the Iverley area, whereby a pregnant ewe was stolen, a few weeks after two lambs were stolen and there was a further incident when another attempt was made to take lambs from the same location.
On the first occasion it is suspected the thieves discovered the ewe was pregnant, so they abandoned her in a lay-by miles away in Brierley Hill. Fortunately, another farmer found her and returned to her owners.
On Sunday 24 March thieves attempted to steal lambs from a farm in Upton Warren, near Bromsgrove, however the would-be thieves were disturbed by a member of the public and although they tried to flee with the lamb it was left behind. A couple of days ago, two Rams worth around Β£500 each were reported stolen from a farm in Wildmoor, near Bromsgrove.
Sarah Sceats, Rural and Business Crime Officer for North Worcestershire, said: βWe are urging farmers to be extra vigilant of their livestock following these recent incidents.
βWe are advising them to take the time to check the perimeters of their land are as secure as possible and, where practical, to keep sheep and lambs as close to the farm as they can."

We are appealing for any information following an armed robbery in Pershore yesterday evening (Sunday 21 January).
The robbery happened on St Andrews Road at around 5.30pm.
The victim had arranged to meet someone to buy his Husquvarna FC 250 pit bike. While unloading the bike from his trailer one male and four people wearing balaclavas threatened him with machetes before one of them stole the bike. The other four fled the scene in a bronze/silver coloured car, heading towards Pershore Abbey.
We responded immediately with a significant number of officers including armed officers and specialist units from the roads policing team and our local patrols. An investigation is now underway, led by detectives and digital forensics officers.
Officers are appealing for anybody who may have seen the incident, who may have CCTV footage from the area, doorbell footage or have any information that would help with enquiries to contact DC Cleaves by email [email protected] or by calling 101 using extension 7742050.
Alternatively, information can be shared anonymously with the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or by visiting https://orlo.uk/nxIcL
