Our apologies for the hiatus but as promised we are (finally) doing pub golf!!! 🏌️‍♀️🏌️‍♀️🤩🤩

This is a joint social with a few other societies so is a great opportunity to make some new friends! There’ll also be plenty of opportunity to drink if that’s your thing and for those who fancy a boogie we’ll plan to head to Simmons afterwards to meet the rest of the clubs 💕

Dress code is anything golf related - would recommend a white top and pleated skirt or similar if you have it!

Please meet us in the Ice Wharf at 7.30pm (7.02 train from PB) where we’ll sort out teams and get going 🤩

Fancy trying something new? This Thursday our lovely contemporary choreographer is running a beginners class in Camden at 6pm!

Absolutely everyone is encouraged to come along, the class is aimed at complete beginners so even if you’ve never danced before you’ll be very welcome!! 💜

ahoy me hearties, hope you've all had a restful break and you're ready to drink like a pirate for our first social of term this Wednesday (11th Jan) which is a CAMDEN TREASURE HUNT!!!!

In case you'd forgotten all about Camden's unique charm over christmas, you will be completing tasks in teams all over the area. What sorts of tasks, I hear you ask? Well, that is currently a closely guarded secret (ie we haven't thought of them yet) but rest assured there will be plenty of alcohol, dancing and general chaos involved. The winning team will receive a special prize and we will be ending the evening in Camden Assembly along with the other societies!

Please meet us at The Ice Wharf in Camden for 7:45PM (please don't be late or you won't be in a team) and come in your BEST PIRATE COSTUMES

❄️NOTICE FOR CHRISTMAS BALL❄️

We are scheduled to have a photo slot for Dance at 8:35pm on Tuesday at Christmas ball! Please locate your Dance friends at 8:25 and make your way to the photographer - for those also in PAS we are right after them so don’t go anywhere after the PAS photos!!

We have a 5 minute slot which means everyone must be there on time otherwise you will get missed, it’s a tight schedule so they cannot wait for any latecomers! Hopefully we can get a whole group pic and then invididual comp dances if we have time.

Don’t be a social grinch, it’s time to get festive 🎅🎄

On 30th November we’re having a Christmas movie night and chill social after comp rehearsals 🎉🎉

Film TBD over the next couple of days. Bring snacks, drinks, comfy clothes and your best Christmas spirit! There will also be an opportunity to order pizza if anyone would like 😛😛

The social is being held at M&M HQ in Potters Bar, which is a five minute walk from the Bus Garage shuttle stop, but we can arrange lifts from rehearsals/the station if necessary (PB girls please offer lifts to Camdeners!!) ❤️

This will be a very chill social, but if you’d like to drink with us and go out afterwards please feel free as we’ll be finished in plenty of time 😍😍😍

👯‍♀️IT’S POLE TIME BABY 📣

Once again we will be attending a pole class at Herts Dance and Fitness in Welwyn on the 25th from 7-8pm (hopefully followed by a cheeky Byng) 😍

Spaces are very limited so head over to the RVC dance page on the SU website now to secure your spot! Priority will be given first to dance members and then opened up to the whole of RVC from Friday so be quick!! Tickets cost £10, shoot us a message after you’ve signed up and we’ll sort out payment 💜

For Camdeners, we’ll sort out how to get you there so don’t worry! Last time some of us got the train to Potters Bar as usual and then car shared with PB girls, and others got the train straight to Welwyn and were picked up. Once we know who’s coming we’ll sort all that out!

Hopefully this doesn’t come as a surprise to anyone but we are doing our annual “friendmaking” social on Friday in the Haxby 🥵 freshers trust us this is not one to miss!!!

Old girls, we need your help to show the freshers the ropes so you’d better all be there too 🤩🤩

As a reminder, the theme this year is TOGA PARTY - freshers we want to see your best grape costumes and old girls please come in togas (or anything white really we’re not fussy) 😍😍😍

Please get to the Haxby for NO LATER than 8:15PM, we have activities planned and you will be fined if you are late 😡

💃🏻FUNDRAISER ANNOUNCEMENT💃🏻

You may have already seen on Facebook, but this is your official announcement - we are doing a Just Danceathon on 11th November!! This is a sponsored event that will raise money for VetLife and for our own club funds.

This will be held in the sports hall of the SAWC at Hawkshead and will run from 9am-9pm! The idea is that there will always be someone dancing over the course of the day, but we’ll switch people out so everyone can come and go as they want to fit in with work/lectures etc 💜

Camdeners we know it’s a trek for you, but if you could get the train up after you finish lectures for the day and stay as long as you can we’d really appreciate it! HH people feel free to stay as long or as little as you’d like (half an hour is better than nothing!) It’ll be very chill, just come along, join in with a dance or two and support us!

We’ll have snacks on hand (though feel free to bring your own), and we’ve been promised a visit from Jill Maddison herself 😍 We’ll be opening the event up to all RVC students, so feel free to bring your friends and/or drag in anyone off the street. Afterwards we’ll plan to head to the Buttery to celebrate!

You can buy either the top, bottoms or both it’s completely up to you, just let me know your size (size guide in comments) which will be kept in confidence- if you’re between sizes I recommend opting up!
The tops will have your first name written on (unless specified you’d like something different) and the sweatpants have a petite or tall option.
I’ll unfortunately only get the exact pricing once order numbers are confirmed (the more we order the cheaper the price *hint hint*) but expect it to be in the range of £28-40 each.

We’re heading to ‘s house for pre drinks (please BYOB), games and hopefully some karaoke (just for you chiara) and then for everyone who wants to we’ll be heading to Piano Works’ Halloween event! 🎃

💃🏻DANCE KIT💃🏻

Alright lads it’s kit time!! Expect a fair few posts from me over the next couple of weeks as I get everything arranged. Here’s everything you need to know at this stage:

- Kit will be the same sexy items as last year, curtesy of Kudos: training tops and sweatpants with the dance logo and your name printed on (pictured below)
- Prices for last year were £34 for training tops and £29.50 for sweatpants. Fingers crossed the price will be the same or cheaper this year but considering recent inflation (😭) this may be slightly more
- Anyone in dance soc is welcome to buy kit, intended for use at rehearsals and competitions (but can be worn whenever you like!)
- Any members who would like to sell their kit at a reduced price please pm me in the next few days with pictures and sizing, and I’ll make a separate post for them
- Please keep an eye out for order forms as you’ll likely have only a few days to get your name down when they’re out!

I’ll hopefully have the order form out in the next week or so and will only ask for the money once the kit is made and dispatched, which won’t be until just before or after Christmas- watch this space!! 👀
