We are very excited to share news on the delivery of Koto’s latest bespoke modular home, set within the stunning North Uist National Scenic Area at Claddach Valley, North Uist. Following a successful planning application in 2021, Uist House has been expertly constructed in the factory by our build partner Woods of Wales, and delivered via land and water to the Outer Hebrides Island.

Koto Living designed the interiors of the house with a focus on natural materials and texture, creating a connection between the house and the vast nature outside. The furniture will consist of a range of unique pieces made by designers in the UK, Scandinavia and around the world whose work complements the timeless aesthetic of Koto’s homes and cabins.

Stay tuned for more on Uist House.

A statement piece to add to your slow design collection.

Menu has delivered yet another classic design, the JWDA Lamp is the kind of sculptural piece that will turn heads while bringing new life to a room. The contrast of the delicate, rounded glass with the sturdy metal base makes for a balanced and intriguing silhouette.

Homefolks values and believes in the emotional expression of utilitarian objects. Their aim is to create products that inspire and play a meaningful part in everyday life.

This striking side table is an exercise of balance. Composed of two sensuous, organic wood forms, this unique design resembles stacked pebbles, and its bold and sculptural shape echoes with cairns, the man-made piles of stones used as landmark or ritual since ancient times.

"Light is the first element of design; without it, there is no colour, form, or texture."

Sculptural – functional – sophisticated.

Menu provides us with pieces that have a tactility about them, conveyed in a soft minimalistic style. This pendant lamp is certainly no exception.

Taking inspiration from masons and carpenters in Ancient Egypt, this lamp mimics the silhouettes of traditional plump weights, drawing upon cast metal objects.

Elevate your space with a cluster of these striking statement fixtures.

Bolia’s Cana collection is an enticing series of storage solutions. A staple and a statement piece, this sideboard is a play on light and display, with an airy semi-transparent frontage.

The space between a subject and its surroundings is often as important as the subject itself.

Styling arrangement with the Reverse Table Lamp from Menu.

Danish designer Aleksandar Lazic sought out simple and clear solutions to modern design concerns. Drawing upon the 1970’s Italian marble tables, his solution was the creation of the Reverse Lamp.

Natural materials like stone have a timeless beauty about them. Visit our website to see our full range of Menu lighting.

Koto Living have designed the interior scheme for this Paragraphy 79 House, designed by Koto - Homes & Cabins ®]

The internal spaces for This House are equally matched to the considered exterior form.

Thought and design revolve around a deep interest in how the house will be used. The exact proportions, pure lines and radiant materials juxtapose with flowing forms and organic textiles.

The House is a compelling, unique synthesis of competing themes. Theatrical elements sit against considered, calm and reassuring minimal spaces.

Local sourcing of sustainable materials have been chosen for their quality, health benefits and to reflect local identity.

Resourceful use of materials that are readily available will be put to use. Natural materials that celebrate the beauty of imperfection. Raw, unadorned
and honest – materials that have roots in nature.

Muted earthy tones, natural pigments on the
walls, timber floors and natural fabrics provide
tactile textures. Art and furniture, old and
new, merging history and innovation.

Are you so weary? Come to the window;
Lean, and look at this—
Something swift runs under the grass
With a little hiss…

Now you see it ripping off,
Reckless, under the fence.
Are you so tired? Unfasten your mind,
And follow it hence.

“Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of the water. Or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.”
