"Everyone talks about peace, but no one educates for . In this world, education is geared towards competition, and competition is the beginning of every war. When we educate for cooperation and for extending solidarity to one another, on that day,we will be educating for peace.'

We want to send a big thank you to everyone who participated in our contest and helped make it a success!
We had an amazing response to the competition with hundreds of entries from across the UK!
We had such a good response from schools and children’s parents, and the level of creativity shown in the entries was very impressive - making the final selection process extremely difficult for the judges.

Our winners for the Writing competition will be posted separately!
We can't thank enough all our judges for stepping with us into this amazing and creative world created by children!
33 schools across the UK have sent the entries of their students, and overall we have received more than 300 amazing works, which have made our judges quite emotional. We would like to thank both teachers and parents for sending the works and using our competition as a platform to talk to kids about wars and their devastating effects all over the world
Unleash your inner author and write a short story about your reflections on wars and children, or express your feelings in a piece of art that would send a strong message to grown-ups to stop wars!

War Through Children’s Eyes – children’s writing and art competition I’m pleased to be one of the judges for the War Through Children’s Eyes art and writing competition for children.
Join us to tell the untold stories of many children who happened to be part of wars.
Send us your artwork or write your story to tell a story of a child, whose only fault is to be born in a war-torn country.
The raised money will help restore the faith in humanity, give hope to the desperate children who feel unheard.
No child must be part of any war!

Join War Child in 2022! As we look forward to all that 2022 will bring, I’m aware that for children already living in conflict zones, the pandemic has compounded their vulnerability...
WAR THROUGH CHILDREN’S EYES is a creative competition open to all children resident in the UK and aged between 7 and 17. Its purpose is to raise awareness of the impact of wars and violent conflicts on the communities caught up in them, and particularly on the most vulnerable members of those communities: their children.
Our mission is to teach a greater understanding of the appalling effects of war and violent conflicts on families and communities, and the plight of the refugees that such conflicts inevitably produce. We aim to create a platform where young people in the United Kingdom can learn tolerance and sensitivity towards children whose lives have been made unsafe, wherever in the world they may have come from, and to inspire them to find ways to help those in great need. This year’s competition is the first of its kind; we hope to hold it annually from this year forward. We want to build War Through Childrens’ Eyes into a stage from which children can stand and speak to all of us, reaching out hands to one another and telling the stories of those children who do not yet have a voice.
If you are between 7 and 17 years old and if you would like to join us in our call for an end to wars and violence, and through your creativity to advocate for children everywhere being able to enjoy safe, peaceful childhoods, we would love you to become a part of this project.
This year we have chosen to support the War Child UK and we would like to encourage everyone who participates in the competition to make a donation to the War Child UK. The money raised will strengthen War Child as a force that changes children’s lives; every penny will help them to provide a better future for children affected by war or violent conflict.
