I want to thank everyone that's taken the time to listen to There's A First Time For Everything since I released it back in February.
Considering my lack of marketing and social media presence it really does make me happy that even a few people are checking out my music and I am eternally thankful to all of you.
I have plans for Clue Stone's future that I will be doing next year and I'm excited for you all to see what I've been working on.

Anyway, I've been busy behind the scenes with a whole bunch of stuff that I'd love to announce but can only sneakily hint towards because none of it is anywhere near ready to be revealed.
Just know that I am doing stuff and you'll find out what that stuff is soon!

Whoever thought it was a good idea to leave me in charge of promoting my own project was a fool (it was me, I'm the fool)
Apologies for the radio silence, I'm terrible at keeping my social media up to date.
I'm here to tell you all that I've been busy working some stuff that I will be unveiling in the not too distant future.
I also want to thank everyone that's bought a CD, streamed the EP and stuck stickers in various places, it genuinely means alot.
So here's your reminder that I have CDs available on Bandcamp or you can by the digital version if you don't own a CD player, (the CD comes with a free sticker) and is also on all the major streaming services!

Hey everyone, I just wanted to post a little update regarding my series of videos on YouTube, Discussing the Music.
You may have noticed that I didn't upload the overview episode yesterday.
Well as I was preparing it I realised that it was going to be more ambitious than I really wanted it to be. It was initially meant to be an overview of the EP, discuss the recording and mixing of it and the general release but I was also going to include how Clue Stone started in the first place.
I've now realised that this would make the video about an hour long so I'm working on separating all the info into 2 different videos.
With this in mind I'm going to take a bit more time to organise it so I'm going to aim for next Friday to have the Overview video out and by then I should have updates regarding the video about how I started Clue Stone.
Apologies to anyone that was looking to watch the new episode.

There's A First Time For Everything is almost here!
I don't know how many of you knew that I learned to play bass before guitar, it's always been a favourite instrument of mine when it comes to listening to music and I really enjoyed playing bass on the EP, even if I am a bit rusty for those octaves.
This is also how I tell my friend that I used the bass he left at my flat to record the EP (thanks Scott!)
My EP, There's A First Time For Everything will be available to stream tomorrow! I hope you've all set aside 14 minutes of your day to give it a listen.

Meet the Musicians: Toyah Swan - Vocals on Tracks 1 & 2 of the upcoming EP.
Toyah and I first met each other back in 2018 when we started studying at UHI Perth in the NC Music course in which we were both First Study Guitarists before she went on to focus on vocals.
Back when we were in HNC and I was still learning how to mix, I mixed and mastered Toyah's single Get Out, which you can listen to on Spotify!
Last year during BA3 we were in a band together in which we worked on a bunch of songs together, two of them being The Ballad of Xander Paterson and Black Pepper, which I wrote the music for and Toyah wrote the lyrics. Both of these songs will be on There's A First Time For Everything.
In my time of playing music with countless musicians, I have never been so impressed by someone's ability to write top quality lyrics at such a ridiculous speed, a skill I definitely don't possess.
I'm very happy Toyah agreed to be a part of my debut EP, she has an amazing voice that I think works really well with my music and as always I had a great time collaborating with her. Follow her here Toyah Swan Music

Meet the Musicians: Chris Clouston (me) - Guitar, Bass, Vocals and Synth.
All tracks on the upcoming EP were also mixed and mastered by Chris.
I started this project as part of my Creative Honours project for my Honours Year at UHI Perth using songs I had written over the last few years.
I've been playing in Metal bands for about 15 years and I thought now was a good time to venture into new territory and write music of varying genres and styles which is why I created Clue Stone.
My idea for Clue Stone was to make a project that showcased my various songs and to have an excuse to collaborate with some of the many musicians I've met over the years.
There's A First Time For Everything will be the first official release that is written mostly by me (two tracks have lyrics written by someone else) and im very excited to get it out there for you all to hear!

Hi everyone!
Apologies for the radio silence these last few months. I notice I made this page announcing my new project and then posted nothing until now like an absolute tease.
The truth is I've been extremely busy working on my debut EP which I am very close to unveiling.
Over the next week or so I will be updating you on everything about the EP, it's title, release date, the cover art, the musicians featured, everything you want to know will be revealed!

Welcome to the page for my new project, Clue Stone!
This is a studio project that I've been mulling over starting for a little while and now i've bitten the bullet and made it a reality.
The idea I had for this project is to have somewhere that I can release the varying genres of music I've been working on under one umbrella rather than starting multiple bands/projects.
I'm in the process of recording an e.p so keep your eyes out for updates about that and in the meantime I'll be posting demos and videos to tide you over.
