Pots and Peonies 🌸

It’s been a while since I’ve done any pottery- family commitments have taken priority. But today I went and opened the cabin doors and looked at all that I last unloaded from the kiln and need to list on Etsy. This jug caught my mums eye so will be staying 😂 Soon I think I will get back on the wheel and making again…

Very cold studio today! So cold my newly thrown pots have frost on them and some may be lost 😩🥶 My cabin is beautiful in summer, but I have no heating or running water so winter is not so fun

New pieces now in!

The eagle-eyed among you will have spotted the new selection of KA Ceramics pieces in the window already.

This latest collection includes some new pieces including hand thrown espresso mugs, oil dispensers, sugar bowls and candle holders. As well as our firm favourites large mugs and soap dispensers.

As soon as these went in the window we had several customers in to whisk their favourite pieces away so you’ll need to be quick if any of these unique treats takes your fancy.

All these ceramic pieces are hand thrown by Katie Alder in her home studio just down the road in Challow. After her regular pottery lessons were cancelled due to the pandemic Katie soon found herself preoccupied with thought of all the ceramic projects she was missing out on. She took the decision to create a home studio in 2021 and now fits pottery around her full time job working night shifts in management as a veterinary nurse. She often comes home from a shift and heads straight to the studio to create a few pieces before bed! We feel super lucky to be one of the select few local outlets she supplies.

These are such beautiful pieces to gift but also a wonderful way to treat yourself. Pop in store this weekend to see the full collection.

This year as well as pumpkins, I decided to try making some friendly ghosts! These are moulded by hand and glazed in original ghostly white. They were then given an extra special twist, with a 3rd firing with a mother of pearl lustre. The bigger ghosts fit a flameless tealight in so they can look over you as they light the room 👀 Message me if you are interested in giving one or 2 a home 👻
