AMF has worked alongside Tim Burton, the creator of as he continues to expand his car collection at his new location. 
 
In one of his more recent additions, Tim approached us to arrange funding of his new Lamborghini Huracan STO. AMF were able to beat the dealers finance option who provided a particularly disappointing balloon payment. 
 
AMF secured the funding on the clients desired terms within just 24 hours, signed the paperwork in person at midnight due to Tim’s busy schedule and paid the dealer all in time for collection on Friday of the week the initial enquiry was received. 
 
In a recent video on Tim’s ‘Shmuseum’ YouTube channel, Tim talks about car finance and he also provides details on his own finance deals with AMF where he is quoted in saying “AMF make that dream car possible”. We are excited to see what the future brings for Tim and his team.

THE ELECTRIC Tesla Model 3 was the UK’s best-selling new car in September, according to the latest official figures, with more registrations last month than affordable models from the likes of Nissan, Toyota, and Vauxhall.

The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) said 6,879 Model 3s were registered last month, putting it ahead of the Vauxhall Corsa supermini, with 5,235 registrations. That’s despite prices for the Tesla saloon starting at just over £40,000 — more than twice as much as the entry-level Corsa.

The Tesla Model 3 has topped the sales charts before, in April 2020, though that was during a disastrous time for the UK car market, as the Covid-19 lockdown brought almost all sales to a halt.

Experts believe there are a number of factors that have resulted in the Model 3 returning to the top of the sales charts, including continued disruption of supply due to a global shortage of semiconductor computer chips and infrequent shipments of Teslas from the factories to the UK.

However, electric vehicles have seen accelerating demand over the past couple of years, and according to an analysis by WhatCar? the shortages of petrol and diesel at the pumps in recent weeks have caused a spike in interest in plug-in vehicles. In a survey of 1,186 car buyers, 23% said the fuel shortage has made them more likely to consider an electric or hybrid vehicle as their next car.

Not to mention that switching to an electric car can bring significant tax benefits for businesses. The government has announced the tax rate for the next three years, helping businesses to plan ahead. The electric car tax on the benefit in kind rate will increase to 1% in 2021/2022 and 2% in 2022/2023.

“The Countach not only embodies the design and engineering tenet of Lamborghini but represents our philosophy of reinventing boundaries,” explains boss Stephan Winkelmann.

The new one is designed and built in such a way as to imagine how the Countach of the 70s and 80s might have evolved. This LPI 800-4 will do 0-62mph in 2.8s, 0-124mph in 8.6s and top out at 221mph!

The monocoque and body panels are all built from carbon fibre, with visible CF on the front splitter, around the front window and wing mirrors, intake covers and rocker panel. Lamborghini dialled into Countach history by deploying ‘telephone’ style wheels, while behind them sit massive carbon ceramics. “A reminder that this car, despite its historic inspiration, is a future automotive screensaver for the 21st century,” Lamborghini says.

Further nods to the 21st century reside in the 3D-printed air vents inside, the photocromatic roof (changing from solid to transparent at the touch of a button), plus an 8.4in HDMI centre touchscreen. Though, there are Seventies motifs stitched onto the “classic and luxurious” leather.

“The Countach was provocative and polarising,” Borkert said, “it made people smile and stare but its infamous recognisability demonstrates the purity of its design legacy. The Countach LPI 800-4 elevates that clarity to a new level, celebrated in an exclusive limited edition to take its place in motoring history,” he added.

Exclusive indeed – just 112 of these LPI 800-4s will be built, delivered from the first part of 2022. And each one will cost... just over 2 million plus local tax…

THE MERCEDES G-CLASS HAS GONE ELECTRIC!

Mercedes are advancing towards their declared goal of 'electric-only… even the most unlikely candidates are being shifted to battery power.

Welcome to the Mercedes EQG. Previously revealed at the Munich motor show as a concept, but coming very soon as a production car.

At first, it might seem like the polar opposite of all the thuggish V8 G63 stands for. And yet Mercedes says it will be just as capable off-road as the combustion version.

Four motors are the key: one for each wheel, for what should be astounding traction and controllability, with max torque at zero revs. They'll have two-speed transmissions too.

The EQG will keep the ladder-frame chassis and live rear axle of the regular G-Class. So it's not some wimpish crossover. The batteries, of unspecified capacity at this stage, will be wedged into that chassis frame. That'll keep the centre of gravity low, a handy thing when you're dangling on some hillside at an improbable angle. It'll also have the gumption to climb a 45-degree slope.

It's a concept, so natch gets some spangly concept design tweaks, not all of which will make production. We can't see the polished 22s being the ideal wheel for forging a path between rocks. The exterior protection strips have been backlit, and there's also a roof rack with peripheral strip lights. The two-tone paint emphasises the clamshell bonnet. Instead of the tailgate spare wheel cover, there's a box for the charge cables.
