Does it feel unsafe when somebody doesn't like you?

Then know that you are not alone.

This can be a perfectly natural thing since, evolutionarily, we depended on others to survive too.

However, this feeling can also be the result of past trauma. Of pains from a long time ago.

How do we know the difference? Please on and read the below:

---

Does the idea of someone not liking you give you a sense of terror?

Do you spend nights thinking about what you did wrong too?

Do you worry about being betrayed or how others perceive you?

Or that you can't help but people please too?

And if you find yourself engaging in behaviours, that you no longer like but can't seem to help but do...

Then that's probably the difference, that you're frustrated with this cycle and are looking for a change in you.

--

Yet, if this is you, know that it's not your fault.

For you and I, perhaps we went through really traumatic experiences.

Of emotional neglect, rejection, abandonment and all sorts of pain.

That this feeling of being UNSAFE remains in us, a real threat for us to tackle again and again.

But the truth is also this, and this is what you'll learn from healing.

It's impossible for EVERYONE to like you.

And if you feel like that's what you need to feel safe, then you probably don't like "yourself" enough too.

So the truth is this.

And if you don't know this already, you are already enough and worthy, no matter what you do.

And the day that you come to realise this.

Will also be the day you learn its okay that not everyone likes you too.

(Because you learned that, first of all, you matter too).

Take care,
Hernping
