Harriet Mee Art
I'm an artist and teacher based in Stockton-on-Tees. I specialise in wall murals and illustrated calligraphy.
I love the creative challenge of meeting your individual requirements, be it a full wall mural or an intricate illustrated calligraphy piece. Based in Teesside, I work from my home studio to create a multitude of fine art and craft projects. Feel free to get in touch with your own requests or for more information; I can't wait to hear how I can bring your inspiration to life.
So 2024 is looking to be REALLY exciting 🤩🤩

So excited to announce my first self-curated exhibition with in January 🙌🙌🙌 this is going to be EPIC.
My current series of portraits is almost finished and one of them has been accepted to an exhibition in London in March too. But you get to see them all first Stockton 🫶 🤩
Lovely Lynsey 🫶 a while ago I put a call out for models to come to my studio so that I could take primary reference photos for my portrait works. Lynsey answered the call and was absolutely divine as a model. She had never been an artist’s model before and I had never photographed one, so we figured it out together 💕 you never know who you will meet in this world. Take every opportunity that comes your way if you can.

Practising my portrait skills again today painting my husband Andy 🫶 so grateful to always have his unwavering support in all my ambitious enterprises and artistic endeavours 🥰🥰
Safe to say pink is my favourite colour this season 💗🩷🩷 before discovering my authentic artistic self, I shied away from colours. All my wardrobe was blacks and greys. I was dressing to match my inner self without even realising it. Now everything is in bright technicolour 💚🧡🧡❤️💙 like Dorothy stepping into Oz, my artistic life is vibrant 🙌🙌
Redcar Seascape - free motion embroidery 🧵
The wind farm off Redcar seafront is one of my all time favourite chill out places. At the end of a long ass day, or simply for the joy of being in the moment and slowing down, we love to drive up there and watch the turbines slowly spinning in the sunset. Such peace! I hope I have captured that peace in this embroidery 😌
Created under the expert tutelage of 🫶
Gloriously creative day yesterday with 🥰🥰 empire building, sewing, painting, planning, ranting, laughing and some truly epic pub chips at the end of the day 🫶 thanks sis 😘
New skills take time 😌 I’m learning how to create stained glass art and making progress slowly slowly. It’s going to take a while for me to get to the stage where I can create the glass artworks I have planned in my head 🤩
Stepping out of my usual subject for this one. Graham and his cello modelled for us at the and I managed the sketch in one of his 15 minute poses. Finished off later from a photograph over two sessions. 🎶🎶🎻
I am so unbelievably excited to be able to share this project that has been in the works for a while now 😍 Absolutely honoured and humbled to be asked to take a leading role with Stockton BID in the creation of something so magical for Stockton.
We are looking for as many artists as possible of all disciplines and experiences to tell us their thoughts and fill in this survey ahead of applying for funding.
Follow this link to fill out the survey >> https://forms.office.com/r/KGqkdtNASx
Filling out the consultation survey means you will be added to a mailing list and be the first to hear about opportunities, open calls and workshops as we start putting together the festival. We are really hoping to tailor this to the needs of the arts community here in Teesside and beyond.
My new brand assets have finally landed! And oh my goodness they were worth the wait! Rosie Houghton at Rapport Creative Design is without a doubt the most amazing graphic designer to work with as a small business and an artist. She just gets it! Such creative energy and professionalism from start to finish.
If anyone is looking to update their brand's visual identity, give Rosie and email >>> [email protected]
Is she a god? A regent? A mystic? A matriarch? So many archetypes in one painting.
Which one speaks to you?

Some of my free motion embroidery work so far 🪡🧵
I’ve had two classes so far as part of a ten week course and I am loving it! I see mixed media acrylic and embroidery works in the future 🤩
thank you so much for your guidance and patience teaching me a new skill 🫶
‘King’ - acrylic on canvas
I have been pretty much playing Florence and the Machine’s now album on repeat for weeks now. ‘Dance Fever’ and in particular the song ‘King’ resonate so much with where I am right now.
A woman is a changeling, always shifting shape. Just when you think you have it figured out, something new begins to take…

‘The River’ - acrylic and ink on canvas
This painting was created in a pair with ‘Release’. The background colours and shapes were chaotic and energetic to paint. The figure is serene, calm in the rush of the river.
If anyone ever wants to know what it feels like to be an artist, this is the image I’ll show them.
Thanks everyone 💙🖤
‘Release’ - acrylic and ink on canvas
I’m really pursuing my portrait work now.
I’m picking up the threads of work I left unfinished when I left my art development and dropped the subject at A Level (in preparation for a degree that would get me a ‘real job’).
I painted the background first, feeling the colours I wanted to use rather than choosing them for any particular reason. I didn’t know what the figure was going to be until the next day.
Recently I attended a fire ceremony and voice activation with Yoga with Heidi and Holistic coaching by Kasia .by.kasia - this is the moment this painting portrays 🔥🔥 thank you for such an amazing experience ladies.
💯 was not ready for the gorgeous weather today while painting this little piece. Beautiful morning working in the sunshine 🌞
Do you have a load of art supplies at home just sitting in a cupboard? Does art and creativity call to you but you don't know where to start?
