Rising Sun Pilates

I say it all the time, but I really hate any upper body work tbh 🤣 enjoy this picture where I look like I actually like it though!

It’s ✨ Monday ✨
A new week, a new day, a new chance to do something future you will thank you for! 🤍
Let’s talk about my first love…
…Mat Pilates! 🧘♀️ ✨
I think Mat Pilates is severely under appreciated! It’s HARD! But, because it doesn’t have all the springs and straps and moving parts, I think people often fall into the trap of thinking it’s boring.
Often people will tell me they tried it once and didn’t love it. That’s why it’s SO important to find an instructor you LOVE because there’s nowhere to hide, no other distractions. It’s just you, them and your mat. If they’re not lighting those muscles up like a Christmas tree then they might not be for you!
Some AMAZING instructors I personally love (some online, some in person):

Give mat a chance!
It’s amazing what some time off can do for our bodies isn’t it?
I recently took a 9 day holiday (which was AMAZING) and today I got a notification from my Apple Watch that my monthly average resting heart rate had changed. It had gone down 11 (yes 11!) bpm in comparison to my heart rate pre-holiday.
The only thing I’d changed? My stress levels.
To be honest, I didn’t even realise I was stressed. I love my job and felt tired, but happy! But lots of late finishes combined with early starts means the lack of sleep was taking its toll. Throw in a house move and it’s probably pretty understandable that my body was feeling the stress.
Now I know an Apple Watch might not be the most accurate heart rate recorder, but it’s evident to me in the way I feel. I feel so much more energetic and refreshed and I really feel it coming across in my teaching too.
Moral of the story: take the time off! 🤍
👋 Hi, I’m Kelsey
A little bit about me:
🤍 I did ballet until I was 19 which was where I discovered (and fell head over heels for!) Pilates
🤍 I’m really passionate about feet (yes, feet!), and how the shoes we wear can impact the rest of our body
🤍 I teach 28 group Pilates classes a week and also do some marketing work alongside them so naps are a daily, and necessary, occurrence
🤍 Biscuits are my absolute kryptonite and a daily essential
🤍 My goal in life is to help people find movement they enjoy and to create an inclusive, welcoming environment for anyone who comes to my classes
If you’re interested in moving with me please do pop me a DM! My DMs are always open for chats about all things Pilates!
I hope this space is one that feels safe and encouraging for you 🤍
Up until yesterday, I hadn’t done a workout for 2 weeks because sometimes life, illness & injury gets in the way and that’s okay!
Most of the time, my consistency looks like this:
🏋️♀️ 🛌 🛌 🏋️♀️ 🏋️♀️ 🛌 🏋️♀️
Not like this:
🏋️♀️🏋️♀️🏋️♀️🏋️♀️🏋️♀️🏋️♀️🛌
Cannot begin to tell you how THRILLED I am with my pics! 😁😁😁
is a SUPERSTAR legend who absolutely NAILED the brief 👏 👏 👏 cannot recommend her enough for anyone wanting photos done - had an absolute blast with her 📸🤍
Just a little selection, I’m sure you’ll all be seeing much much more ✨

Probably the question I get asked the most as a Pilates Instructor…what do you think? 🤔🤍

🧡2024🧡
I was always too scared to take the leap into being fully self employed but when redundancy came knocking late last year I thought ‘this is my sign to go for it!’
I can’t tell you how much my life has changed since then. I’m so HAPPY that I get to do this every day. I spend my day bonding with clients, getting the honour of being a part of someone’s movement journey, moving myself, all whilst earning double what I did in a salaried job.
I know I’m lucky, and self-employment doesn’t always go that way for everyone and I’m also very aware there are highs and lows to this, but if you’ve been questioning making the leap DO IT!
My only regret is that I didn’t do this sooner and I’m sooooo excited for what 2024 has in store. If these past few months are anything to go by, it’s gonna be an amazing year ✨
just a happy gal who can’t believe I get to do this everyday ✨🧡
obsessed with the brand new Wimbledon, what a joy it is to teach in a studio as pretty as this one ✨
just a happy gal doing what she loves ✨🧡
Received this lovely text from an instructor I covered for today 🧡
Covering classes can always be a bit intimidating. You don’t know the clients or the studio and it can feel a bit like walking into the unknown, but I always find it’s those moments where I grow the most as an instructor ☺️
meet my new filming location 👋
I moved into a flat recently but tell me this isn’t the perfect filming spot! 🎥
Anyone else been slacking with the self-practise recently? 🤔
All it takes is a week or two to be completed knocked out of routine! Getting back into it can be tricky, but start small with a little stretch in the morning or a 10 minute walk and you’ll be back to it in no time!
🧡🧡🧡
hi everyone 👋
lot’s of crazy change coming up but I’m excited 😁🧡
truly the best job in the world 🧡
