The cloth nappy circle is where i began my reusable/sustainable journey. I still run my local library, providing demos and hires but the market has changed so much that it’s unrecognisable.
The cost of living means less and less cloth being used and more cheaper disposables ending in landfill.
So this Friday i plan to reduce all my nappies to £5.
For 24 hours only. Hopefulfly this will help people get started using cloth. Stocking up their stashes or giving them a go.
If you are local to you can use the Love Essex scheme to claim back £30 on purchases which will be 6 nappies!
We have a newbie here at A Little Eco HQ Shower Blocks Hand Blocks. They are a stripped back, beautifully simplistic and wonderful smelling hand soap to compliment the already popular shower blocks range.

Living in means events like these are really important to me for getting the message out.
Being conscious needn’t be complicated or expensive it just requires some simple changes and a little bit of thought.
Come along to the highstreet this Saturday, find some local businesses to support and find out how a single can make
Definitely not the most glamorous photo but this is how my looks. is important to reduce the amount we buy and therefore the amount that os wasted/thrown away/recycled.
Ultimately what i have learnt most from my journey is its not just about buying eco options but buying less or reusing/fixing/repurposing what you have can be just as effective.
My little glass toothpaste jars from make a perfect container for my delightful shampoo cubes. I have been using these cubes for years, when they were originally and i loved them. They are the perfect travel companion, light and just as effective as any liquid shampoo.
Smash them in your palm using your thumb, add some water and away you go. Available on my website.
Simple swaps can be way more effective to take hold than trying too much at once and then giving up.
Keep it simple.

Today marks the first day of Plastic Free July, what does that mean to you? Its certainly not a month of giving it all up or even attempting to , instead its about making those small conscious changes that collectively add up. Change your toothbrush or toothpaste, your house-hold cleaning products or your plastic bottles full of shower gel. Every little bit makes a difference.

Happy World Bee Day! 🐝 Today we celebrate these amazing creatures who play a vital role in our ecosystem.
These little bees are responsible for pollinating around 75% of the crops that make up our diets, everything from apples to avocado. Without bees, our food supply and biodiversity would be in jeopardy. We can all do our part to protect bees by planting bee-friendly flowers and reducing pesticide use.
Together, we can ensure the survival of these important pollinators.
This wonderful forest school is my home town of Chelmsford, nestled amongst the trees of hylands park is a play space to inspire children and adults alike!
They are so worthy of this vote so if you haven’t been make sure you do and if you have make sure you vote!
When you've finished cleaning the mud kitchen and you check your emails when you get home to find this!
This is amazing news!
But...here's where the hard work starts. ALL previous votes have been wiped out so we are back to the drawing board and that means asking all of you lovely people out there in social media land to vote for me again. This is the real deal now, so every vote will count. And we are up against 4 other amazing businesses, some much bigger than me!
Let's show that a little forest school hidden away in a park in Chelmsford can hold their own with the best of them. Please scan to vote or head to the following link: https://essex.muddystilettos.co.uk/vote/
I was driving home today and just before the dartford tunnel on a bridge overhead was a huge sign hung saying “The Climate Crisis is a hoax”
I was genuinely perplexed, do people actually still believe we are ‘A OK’ when it concerns extreme weather (hot and cold) melting icecaps, flooding, forest fires. The list goes on.
I would love to hear your opinions on why you might think its one or the other.

Day 1 of cloth nappy week.
The 4 types of cloth nappy:
All in One (AiO)
All in Two (Ai2)
Pocket
Fitted Flat w/ Wrap
Try keep it simple. Ultimately they all serve the same purpose, to keep the liquid/solids in and keep the clothes dry, its as simple as that. A cloth nappy needs a waterproof outer and an absorbent inner. 👌
Picture of my little one sporting her cloth nappy back when she was smaller 😍
I miss her cloth bum
We have III for the price of II on all our nappies
Earth Day 2023
A day for pause or a day for action?
Earth Day is a day to raise awareness to the environmental issues our planet is facing at present and to promote conservation actions.
It is a day to ask how YOU can make a difference and celebrate those positive changes you are making, however small they are.
Our needs us to work as a collective and the inaction of the large corporations can leave us asking "why bother" but we just cant give up . We can make a difference!

Happy International Woman’s Day!
As a mother of three, an employee and a business owner, I (as i’m sure do many) fail to take stock of my achievements. Often playing it down as just “what needs doing”
Today is a day to reflect on that, to celebrate our achievements, to remember we are strong and capable and to also inspire.
My children are my inspiration but i hope they can one day say the same about me.
(A rare presentable photo of me, doesn’t happen often 🤪)
Teeth 😁
Not an overly glamorous subject but a somewhat important one!
How to make dental care more eco friendly...
According to the British Dental Journal the UK alone throws enough empty toothpaste tubes away to circle the globe twice (Around 300 Million Tubes 😲)
How can you change this?
Buy an eco friendly alternative, there are now so many options available. Dental Tabs are easy to use, easily portable and have biodegradable or recyclable packaging.
Eco Floss saves unrecyclable plastic string from being tossed in the bin or down the drain!
There is even mouthwash tabs to save the use of those unnecessary plastic bottles which mainly contain water!
Remember you don't have to go out and buy them all at once, start small, make a few inexpensive swaps to bamboo\wooden toothbrushes or toothpaste tabs and go from there.
Simple effect swaps is key! Be a little Eco
As a mother who started cloth nappying at different ages for her three children i feel in a good place to identify when i think is a good time to start and why.
Using cloth nappies needn't be hard, stressful or overly complicated. Yes it is different, no they are not as convenient as a single use throw away alternative. But if you are coming to the conclusion you want to be using them then hopefully you already know that the convenience element isn't what they are all about.
So when is a good time to start?
Providing they are still using nappies then there is no reason you cannot give it a go, whatever their age.
When is it easiest?
For me pre weaning was definitely the easiest time. Some may disagree as coming through the fog of early parenthood might not sit well with trying to introduce reusables, but when your washing machine pretty much does everything for you, no need to get rid of solids and the containment cloth nappies provide on those inevitable newborn explosions, then it is by far the easiest.
Adding a few into your routine every day makes the difference.
You also learn that using them is just the norm and don't get to used to the convenience of single use which may sway you to think twice about using them.
When did you begin using cloth nappies on your little ones?
