St Joseph's, Goldenhill
Catholic Primary School in Goldenhill, Stoke-on-Trent
Pope Francis has declared this year a Year of Prayer, ahead of the Jubilee Year next year. We have been reflecting on the meaning of the Our Father prayer which Jesus taught His disciples. Today each class shared their learning to help us better understand this prayer. Well done to all of our children but most especially to our Nursery children who joined our whole school assembly to sing their song "God is good!"
Happy Father's Day from our Pre School afternoon children.
Happy Father's Day from our Pre School morning children.
Happy Father's Day to all our Dads, Grandads, Step Dads and Uncles. May you be inspired by St Joseph. We keep in our prayers all those celebrating Father's Day with Dads, Grandads and children in heaven and all those waiting and hoping to be a Dad.

Year Three had a fabulous day at the Grosvenor Museum in Chester. They learned all about life in Roman Britain.
We are looking forward to welcoming the children back to school for the final half term. It's Week 2 on the school dinner menu, please see attached.
We may see the sunshine occasionally so please ensure that children come to school each day with a sun hat, filled water bottle and wearing all day sun cream. A polite reminder that sandals, sliders etc. may not be worn to school.
Last week, Y3 treated us to a performance on their recorders, showing off their newly acquired skills. We were also entertained by our KS2 instrumentalists. The concert included guitars, clarinet, flute, trombone and cornet, to name but a few!
Our Pre School boys and girls have a message for you about teeth!
We have had a great week in Pre School talking about our teeth. The children have loved the creative activities and all engaged. We enjoyed bringing our toothbrushes into preschool and brushing our teeth.
We talked about food which was good and not so good for our teeth and the children loved brushing off all the Percy plaque of crocodiles teeth.
Our story was Peppa Pig went to the Dentist.

Yesterday Nursery and Reception crowned Our Lady in the Prayer Garden and today it was the turn of KS1 and KS2. We were absolutely blown away by the number of flowers picked and brought by the children. Your generosity was overwhelming.
As school is closed next week, we will distribute the flowers to the sick, the lonely and the needy on Friday. If you know anyone who would benefit from cheering up with a bunch of beautiful flowers, please collect some on Friday morning. If any of our parents work in care homes etc., please do collect a bunch or two for your residents.
The evening activity at Stanley Head - Nightline- was enjoyed by all.

Nursery had a brilliant trip to Glebe Farm today. We had a bumpy ride on the tractor with Santa. He gave the children a present and they told him what they’d like for Christmas. We then fed the animals and finished the day with a play on the play area. Well done children for a great first trip in nursery.
