Some days, I feel full of life and energy. My mind is clear, and I can accomplish a lot. I feel as if I am cured and back to normal.

Then, the flare comes, and I crash.

I wake up with every muscle burning and every joint aching. Every move takes my breath away, even going to the toilet is exhausting. I usually shower daily, but I miss showers during a flare.

Then comes the brain fog. I struggle in conversations because I forget simple words. I have learned to let it flow over me until I get that burst of energy again, knowing it won't last, but I must keep going.

This is what my life with fibromyalgia is like. It is a struggle, and it is difficult, but I keep going because I have to. If you don't suffer from it, you will have no idea how much energy it takes just to get through a day. Even when I have a good day, I am never not in pain, even when I am smiling.

I LOVE THIS ANALOGY:
You are holding a cup of coffee when someone comes along and bumps into you or shakes your arm, making you spill your coffee everywhere. Why did you spill the coffee?
"Because someone bumped into me!!!"
Wrong answer.
You spilled the coffee because there was coffee in your cup. Had there been tea in the cup, you would have spilled tea. Whatever is inside the cup is what will spill out.
Therefore, when life comes along and shakes you (which WILL happen), whatever is inside you will come out. It's easy to fake it, until you get rattled.
So we have to ask ourselves... “what's in my cup?"
When life gets tough, what spills over? Joy, gratitude, peace and humility?
Anger, bitterness, victim mentality and quitting-tendencies?
Life provides the cup, YOU choose how to fill it.
Today let's work towards filling our cups with gratitude, forgiveness, joy, words of affirmation, resilience, positivity; and kindness, gentleness and love for others.

I know it my come as a surprise to many but I struggle with Social Anxiety. I know when you meet me, you would find it very hard to believe as I present as bubbly and confident, but that's when I'm in my safe spaces I.e.The salon or my home.
So, as I result of this I rarely go out and as many of you know I will most likely flake when invited anywhere that is unfamiliar to me so you have stopped inviting me lol 😆
This year I have been steadily working on overcoming my fears and anxieties and making great progress I now can travel to London by myself without having a panic attack and Last night I attended my wonderful friend's 50th birthday party, ok, so my bestie Esther Leonty came with me as it was a lot for me to just go on my own but I am so glad I didn't flake and had such a wonderful time !!
I'm slowly emerging a bit fatter but fabulous and I'm proud of myself so You all can start inviting me out again now 😂♥️♥️❤️ p.s. Happy Birthday Rachel Gumbs you awesome human bean ❤️
