2023🥹 I did not anticipate this year going the way it did for me and I am SO grateful. I cannot be bothered for a full recap video😂

I really had no idea I would be buying a house this year believe it or not. It wasn’t as “planned” in advance as you’d probably expect. Which has also meant going into 2024, I feel a little lost?🙈

I feel like I’m ending the year a slightly different person with different interests etc. I mean, ME DRIVING AGAIN!? No one on this earth seen that coming😂😂 if you know, you know! I have no idea what that next year will have in store for me, and I’m trying to be ok with that😭 so we’ll see😂

I didn’t even think I would fill this 8 yard skip so easily. But 2 rooms and some walldrobes later here we are🙃😂 £280 I couldn’t avoid if I tried!

It has been a pretty busy week at Savdanyell HQ🙃

• Monday I received my plastering materials which I managed to get super discounted from

• I then had to carry 15, 25kg bags of plaster into the house one by one…followed by 30 plasterboards omggg😭😭 the mental challenge was REAL

• Locked myself out the house half way through and had to call a lock smith😭😭😭 £50 and 30 mins later we were back in business

• Had to call my uncle for help with the plasterboards. No word of a lie I was weak, shaking and my hands were literally red raw and stinging…I keep telling people I was not built for manual labour🥴😂

• Then my bed arrived from .com

• Followed by my skip. I went with an 8 yard skip which was £280 including the permit to have it on the road🙃

Finally…the electrician is coming next week to do the first fit. As im moving plug sockets, getting some extra ones put in and also SPOT LIGHTS! ⚡️💡

I had two plasterers and a roofer come to give me quotes today. I feel like finding good tradesmen is like dating!

- I was stood up by the roofer z

- Plasterer A was late and proceeded t try and tell me I needed a rewire despite me having an EICR, and getting opinions from 2 electricians who both said I don’t need a rewire. Let me repeat… the PLASTERER said I need a rewire 🙃

- Plasterer B felt like we had an instant connection 🥹😂😂 ticked all the boxes, no red flags🚩, price made sense. Happens to know my dad which is a bonus😏😂

I also had to call pest control today as there are wasps coming out the bedroom ceiling LOL. Hopefully they’re able to find the nest and get rid because sis ain’t built for this😭😭😭

I know you wanted to ask…it’s a 3 bed 🌝😂 The first two rooms receiving attention! After some long deliberation I think I’ve decided to actually use the smaller room as the bedroom and the larger room as my work space. I work from home filming so the more space the better. I also plan to use the smallest bedroom as a closet (not pictured)… which means minimal to no furniture needed in the bedroom anyway. So I can make it a cosy haven and actually switch off from everything else whilst I’m in there👀👀

What would you do? Which would you use as the bedroom?

Both rooms look DRASTICALLY different now as we’ve already began stripping the walls and removing the built in furniture. The content creator in me is screaming that I didn’t take portrait before pictures 🤢🤮

Needless to say this has been a JOURNEYYY…what started as me caught in the rental crisis, turned into purchasing a wholeee house!? Insane😂

I’ve replayed this moment in my head and it still hasn’t really sunk in that this is real. And no, there was no ‘Bank of Mum & Dad’ as I’ve been cheekily asked a couple times along the way and I’m SO proud 🤭

🥂It’s been 1 year since I QUIT my job at the estate agent, posted this picture to celebrate😂 and went full time as a freelancer…TIME HAS FLOWN! 😭

Do I regret it? NO😂 but there’s definitely been some unforeseen issues I did not anticipate…keep reading 😭

I’ve been documenting my journey in finding an apartment on my stories, and self employment definitely made that more difficult. They don’t care that for the last 6 months you’ve been making double what you made the previous 6 months (and double what you need to rent the space🙃). They care about your previous years tax return which for me was not reflective of my current earnings at alll🫠

So a lot of the time I had to come to terms with the fact I’d need to pay 12 months rent upfront or get a guarantor🙂 yh mad ting lmao. If I had a job I’d be able to show payslips with the earnings easily. So yh paying less tax does come to bite you at times 💀😂

Otherwiseee… if you’re trying to go self employed and you currently work - try reducing your hours slowly to a point you’re barely there. Thats exactly what I did and by the time I quit I was practically full time freelancing already. Of course you still need to be enquiring your soaking up the reduced hours on the employed side, by the self employed side but that’s a conversation for another day…

1 year later I’m currently in the process of setting up a new business🥂🥹💕 will check back in in a year😂

🤔WHY I PREFER TWIST OUTS OVER WASH N GOS:

📌 DURATION: 9/10 I can get my twist outs to last much longer than my wash n gos. I literally retwist without detangling in large sections every couple of nights and I can remoisturise as necessary.

📌 TANGLES: My hair remains stretched while in a twist out which means wash day is easier because there are A LOT less tangles. I also experience more hair growth when I wear more twist outs over wash n gos

📌 SLICK STYLES: it’s easier for me to get my hair into a slick style at the end of the week after a twist out than a wash n go. I don’t have to fight with it so much

📌 LESS PRODUCT: I use a lot less product doing and maintaining my twist outs. The longer I leave my twists in, the more definition I have. As opposed to the more product, the more definition for a wash n go…

📌 FLAKES: I often have to combine products for a defined wash n go which increases my chances of flakes. AND FLAKES ARE THE ENEMY🙂🙂🙂 IM TIRED😂

Life lately… so I recently completed the growth programme which has led to me setting up a whole new business…😭 so I’ve definitely felt busier than usual the past few months. Trying to balance now with the future, whilst also continuing to try and be a cute babe 🥲😂

Photo 1-4: Aston held a dinner for all of the programmes cohorts over the past few years to attend at 😏 fancyyyy. We were also given certificates and a box of chocolates for completing the programme. Cute!!🥹🥹 Evening entertainment also included a magician 🪄😂

The programme has forced me to accelerate my networking skills. We have a long way to go, but feeling like the inexperienced baby in the room who has nothing to offer is no longer the leading thought…maybe the inexperienced baby that has something to offer instead😂
