Do you carve pumpkins for Halloween?

There werenât many pumpkins left when I decided I wanted to carve a pumpkin this year
This one already had a hole and some defects
Got me thinking
People were avoiding this pumpkin
But they would have been carving it anyway so why?
I think I did a pretty good job

Itâs my birthday!
Okay itâs not MY birthday but it is my business anniversary

What do you do if you offer something to someone and they say "No" ?
Are you a Mrs Doyle?
Please don't be a Mrs Doyle.
If someone says "No" to;
a slice of cake
an alcoholic drink
an extra portion
a line of coke
to go shopping
an entry on the sweepstake you are running in the office
Don't push them, don't make them explain themselves.
Accept their "No" graciously and move on.
They will have a good reason for saying no.
You pushing them could undo any hard work they have put in to get to the point where they can actually say "NO" to you.
We are all fighting our own inner demons, don't make them fight you as well.
Do you ask what people want?
This is not one of those âI bought a homeless person a meal dealâ posts
However I do want to share something with you about assumptions
There is a guy I see regularly with his dog outside of our local Aldi UK
He always has a bag full of food, drinks and dog food that people have bought him
A few months ago I asked him if there was anything he would like
He looked at the bag and said he had enough, but thank you
I asked him again, is there something you really fancy that you donât have?
He looked and said he would like one of the yoghurts in the pouches
Off I went into the shop bought him a couple and something for the dog
When I handed them to him he was surprised, I donât know why because he had asked for them
Maybe he thought I wouldnât bother or forget
Last week I saw him again sitting outside and picked up a couple more yogurts
He was beaming when I gave them to him because I said I remembered he liked them
Although next time I will ask him if he still wants the yogurt or if heâd prefer something else
Like I said at the beginning this isnât me telling you I gave a homeless guy food
This is a post that can be relatable to anything and anyone
Donât assume, ASK what they want, what they need
Sometimes we want to be left alone, want a hug, need to cry or laugh, have company or just sit in silence with you near
But asking will help you and them navigate through whatever it is that they need help with
3 very small words with a very big impact
How often do you tell your partner you love them, at least once a day?
Your children, once or twice a day?
Your parents, once a week or month on your catch up call?
How often do you say it to yourself?
Once a day, week, month, year?
Most people don't actually say that they love themselves
But these 3 little words are so important in our self care, there have been a number of psychology studies which agree that self love and compassion are key for our mental health and wellbeing, and will keep depression and anxiety at bay
So if you only do one thing this week look at yourself in the mirror and say at least once a day, and while you're at it tell the people around you more often how much you love them and how much they mean to you
I guarantee you will feel better and I am sure you will make their day

If they are not wanted

There are many metaphors used in hypnotherapy that include gardens
