I haven’t posted in a while, but I make no apologies for posting this picture of two of my adopted furbabies… It was with great sadness that I announce our ginger tom Leo passed. I was just getting over the sudden demise of my dear mother, when we were faced with another departure. I will hopefully get back to crafting this bank holiday… I’m lucky enough to be able to try out some products from the new catalogue, so I’ll be able to show them to you, once the catalogue is released.

This week is Ap Helly Aa a festival in Shetland. It is Nordic in origin and is welcoming the Sun after the winter solstice. Some say it heralds the spring and the oncoming fertility of the land. Teams of men, dressed in Nordic costume, pull replicas of Viking Ships through the Streets of Lerwick on the main island. Men vie for the position of Jarl or leader. The evening culminates with the boats being set on fire. This is a raucus festival with much merriment, music, drinking and competition. Present day festival and costume dates from 150 years ago. Shetland has close ties to Scandinavia. This year was cancelled yet again due to the fear of the Covid virus.

This stamp set from Stampin’Up is called Brave Vikings and would be perfect for invitations to this event…

I love this time of year on the lead up to Christmas. Many Street decorations and trees are in place. Shop Windows get decorated. Christmas Carols are played in shops and in the town squares. People appear more cheerful and friendlier. They take the time to stop and chat over coffee and mince pies.🎅🏼🎅🏼🎅🏼.

Buy 1 get 1 free for every stamp set in this current 2021 annual you get a lucky dip, in that the stamp set may be new or used. They are sets you may not find anywhere else. Urgent news for all customers

As you may have heard reported in the news, unprecedented shipping and logistics issues have resulted in a global supply chain crisis. This is affecting businesses world-wide and Stampin’ Up! is no exception. Due to extreme difficulties caused by these issues, starting on 1 December 2021, Stampin’ Up! will no longer take orders for products that are not in stock. In other words, Stampin’ Up! will no longer accept backorders. This change will help to reduce frustrations from unpredictable product availability and allow you to order products that will be delivered right away, rather than products that may not be delivered for months. If you’d ever like to know if a product is available, please check the online store. The online store is a great resource to browse products, determine availability, and place orders for in-stock items with me. I would love to help you find the right products so you can start creating without waiting!

I was recently asked some questions about my work…
1)Why do I love the products? This one is easy to answer

a) Colour. Whether it’s ink/refills, pens, markers, ribbon, embellishments, card, or designer series paper, the colour remains true.
b) Quantity. There are 50+ colours which makes colour co-ordination fun, in addition there are patterned papers to compliment the colour groups.
c) Dies. Although dies focus mainly on the stamp sets there is sometimes the bonus of additional pieces. Making value for money. There are dies for frames, labels, shapes and outlines.
d) Stamp sets. These are either cling or photopolymer. The range covers all occaisions and seasons. Many include sentiments, some are double sided, some use a two stamp design to build depth.
e) Punches. Some co-ordinate with the stamp sets and some stand alone. These are quick to use and sturdy.
f) Card. The colour goes all the way through. When the card is torn there is no white sandwich! It is good quality and a standard size which means less waste when making cards. Speciality papers are stunning and enhance the look of cards. Basic 12x12 card is adaptable to make larger items such as home decorations or smaller items such as trinket boxes, party favors, speciality cards and more.
g)Adhesives, Many adhesives to meet every need. Embellishments to co-ordinate and compliment the colour ranges.
h) Tools. Every cardmaking tool you need from a simple bone folder to a die cutting machine, with everything in between.

So October 1st is the start of the Stampin’Up! year. I’m pleased to say that I was able to get a place on Kylie and Brunno Bertuccis Demonstrator Training programme. This is a year long programme to help demonstrators try new things or ways of acheiving goals. It is well supported by videos and live feed. We get a chance to meet demonstrators of all levels, from all around the world. We share ideas to help our businesses grow. This is a great networking opportunity that I shall take full advantage of.

You might ask ‘well that’s all very well but what has that got to do with me’. Well, it will mean I will be able to offer you amazing opportunities to be part of my team. Opportunities: to join a monthly card in a box group specifically for those in my team; Zoom cardmaking sessions; monthly coffee and card; monthly newsletter and card blog; plus so much more. I can’t wait to get started. Contact me if you want to join in a card making.

Hello everyone, I made these versions of a card from a Jan Brown (JanB cards) video on YouTube, who originally CASed it from watching videos from Mary-Anne Curtis and Lorraine Cheney, but thinks the card came from the endeavours of Lisa Griffin-Swallowneck (sorry for any misspellings). I’m using up dsp and stamp sets, both old and new to make these Christmas cards a little different, the technique is known as angled tri-fold cards.
