It’s never too early to introduce your child to the dentist’s chair — it’s important that children grow up knowing that going to the dentist is nothing to be afraid of!

We recommend that you take your child to the dentist as soon as their first tooth appears, and then regular checkups (every six months) after that — regular checkups will ensure that your child grows up with a healthy smile. Baby teeth in particular require regular checkups because they are the foundation for healthy adult teeth!

At The Link Dental Surgery, we want to build the child’s confidence when visiting the dentist and develop healthy milestones to boost oral health. During each check-up, we look at the early signs of tooth decay and gum problems and, in the long run, we monitor dental and skeletal development so that we can treat any issue as soon as possible.

Checking tooth development regularly is the safest way to address dental issues before they require extensive treatment.

An Important Notice to all Visitors:

We would like to make all patients and visitors aware that face masks remain a requirement within primary dental care settings according to the guidance released within our healthcare services and based on local risk assessments.

We are aware of the recent relaxation of these rules introduced by the Government and other healthcare providers, however face coverings and face masks continue to be required in certain health and care settings to comply with infection prevention and control (IPC) and adult social care guidance. This due to the volume of patients seen, the types of treatments that are carried out and the number of vulnerable patients that attend these settings.

We therefore kindly ask that you to continue to wear your face covering when you enter our practice, unless you are exempt or have an acceptable or valid reason for removing it. Staff are happy to provide you with a face mask if you haven’t got one with you.

Our team is working hard to ensure we continue provide care for all of our patients in a clinical setting that is safe for all.
