A little reminder for parents that if your child is suffering from what looks like a cold, it might be hayfever! π€§
Runny noses, itchy and watery eyes are common and for some people it also comes with headaches and earache, loss of smell and generally feeling poorly.
Hayfever can sometimes be mistaken for a common cold as some of the symptoms are similar, please remember you can chat with your GP or pharmacist if your child is suffering and you would like their opinion.
Our blog has lots of tips and advice on hayfever:

Paddling pools are a great way to have fun and cool down in the warmer weather. But itβs important to remember little ones can drown in just a few cm of water.
Thatβs why itβs so important to keep little children in arms reach when theyβre in or around the paddling pool.
Itβs also wise to empty paddling pools after use to stop children falling in accidentally or entering them unsupervised.
And, donβt forget to store or turn over your paddling pool when itβs not in use to prevent it from filling with rainwater.

Have you considered how visible your child would be under the water in different coloured swimsuits and trunks?
The brilliant team at Aquatic Safety Connection has tested how different colours appear in various water types and states, such as swimming pools, choppy waters, and murky ponds and lakes.
You can see from this image that white and light blue are almost invisible to the eye when at the bottom of a pool with agitated water. Dark colours are visible but can sometimes be mistaken for shadows or pool equipment.
Something to consider when you are next shopping for summer swimwear, opt for bright and contrasting colours.

Well done Poppy, what a little superstar lifesaver! π
This little legend is Poppy Davies. She's only five. When her mother unexpectedly collapsed at home, Poppy stayed with her all night as she lay there unconscious. Then, wearing wellies and her princess dress, she calmly walked to school and told teachers "Mummy's on the floor and I can't wake her up." Her mum had in fact gone into septic shock and might have lost her life. Poppy, you are a star βοΈ http://tiny.cc/epshyz
