A place to call my own……

Finally, literally after years of taking over the dining room, my sisters garage, a shipping container & just about every surface that doesn’t move…I at last have a workspace to call my own.

It was a family effort & took the whole weekend but oh my goodness will this make a difference to all of us here at HC.

Despite 2 walls still to finish, I couldn’t wait to start merchandising my collection of props… we even had a ‘topping off’ ceremony with a jug of Pimms!

It couldn’t have come at a better time too, as this Friday is the deadline for all the photography to be sent over to Sally in readiness for ONLINE event on the 12th & 13th July…

I have SO much new stock to add to the website, you really are in for a treat. I just need to stop faffing with fairy lights & knuckle down.

& I promise to share more pics when it’s all finished.

Forever homes…….

I love it when someone falls in love with an item as much as I do.

This gorgeously aged stone dog caused quite a stir recently in Somerset.

He nearly went home with several different people, but fate was watching & his new owner (with a matching real life pointer/lab cross~ perfect if you remember our poll?) snapped him up.

Today, he’s leaving us for life on a farm & we wish him all the best.

Now I’m on a mission to find a similar pair for someone else.

Sourcing, collection & delivery are always an option please just get in touch.

I don’t know about you, but there is nothing I would rather do today, than soak up some sunshine in the garden.

With chippy paint that once was green,
They truly are a delight to be seen.

For one has a lid and the other has not,
but that shall soon be forgot.

For they’ll be coming to Yarlington House,
& will sit waiting quiet as a mouse.

Until a lucky person or maybe two
Will snap them up & love them true……

This time last week we had the most glorious weather….

Betsy & I had the most amazing day with our family meandering along the canal enjoying the sunshine.

I don’t know about where you are, but it’s grey, wet & frankly a bit pants here in Hampshire this morning.

I had planned to spend the morning outside finishing off some painting ready for my upcoming fairs….

Luckily there are enough insidey jobs on my to do list, so I shan’t be idle!

A hive of activity…..

All busy here getting stock ready for the beautiful Yarlington House Fair in Somerset next Friday & Saturday.

These gorgeous vintage bee hives will be coming with me unless they’re snapped up beforehand.

They look wonderful nestled in amongst the plants & are a great place to stash unsightly compost bags.

All aboard…..

Oh we did have fun messing about on boats yesterday.

With 5 children, 2 dogs, 1 mad French woman & a fridge full of bubbles, what could possibly go wrong?

Amazingly, nobody ended up in the water, a good day was had by all & our boat home for the day was safely returned to the lovely chaps

Forget-me-not…..

It’s been a busy week here what with birthday celebrations (thank you for all your gorgeous messages) & sorting through stock~ this time I’m getting ready for the stunning fair at Yarlington House, Somerset 21-22nd June.

There comes a point in the life of a forget-me-not though, when their pretty blue has faded & they look rather weedy & needy~ I have been grabbing great fistfuls of them each time I walk past~ rather satisfying really.

Father’s Day….

Of course he wants a battered tankard for Fathers Day~ it beats another pair of socks hands down!

Whether for pens, posies or pints I think a vintage tankard makes the most wonderful Fathers Day gift.

They all vary, some have been engraved, most have a dent here & there~ let’s just say they’ve been around the block (like most dads I imagine).

Time to get my head out of the clouds…..

I spent a LOT of time in the van this weekend collecting stock for my next fair at Yarlington House with on 21st~22nd June.

I’ve made no secret that I’m looking for a little barn to set up my own shop.

I have dreamed of having my name above the door, since being allowed to mind the sweet shop for my grannys neighbour as a child~ such lovely memories.

Sadly, this one is too far away (& not even available), but I was of course drawn to the green like a bee to pollen~ which got me thinking ~perhaps I was a 🐝 in a previous life?
