Very busy start to the week, down to Wheatway Solutions LTD for a factory tour and collect two Gyru-Star screening buckets, 4-100 with several head brackets (S45, JCB 3cx & TB290) to suit 8t machines as our demonstrator ready for the spring, the slightly smaller of the two is a 3-100 with 45mm bracket destined for Chris in North Yorkshire that had already tried one and knew exactly what he wanted, Bobcat E50 serviced whilst on site, flow & pressures tested for bucket warranty, and of course a quick play to see how it copes with wet material, Big thanks to Chris for the purchase and the team down at Gloucester for the quick turnaround 👍🏻

Stunning scenery today in Cumbria, except the gates 🤦🏻‍♂️ 16 times in total so plenty of photo opportunities 📸 Massive thanks to Tom TDAGRIWORKS when nobody in Carlisle or Penrith had or was interested in cross referencing filters to or from the brand of machine they sell, I rang and asked where else I could try, when I described them he only bloody had a set ! Great when small businesses can work together to get the job done 💪🏻😎🔧👍🏻

Trying to keep everybody moving, a challenge in itself ! Apologies those that are waiting to have servicing done, I’m getting nearer, as most of you will understand breakdowns and repairs come first, here’s some examples of what we’ve been on with -
👨🏻‍🔧 customer suspect they’d ran out of fuel and couldn’t get it going (more honest than most) when actually the stop solenoid had expired. 👍🏻
🔵 Ad blu fault on a Cat powered tracked dumper sorted after some testing.
🚧 Takeuchi final drive worn out and stopped driving, removed and sent for repair.
⚙️ Deutz powered manitou starter motor packed in, unfortunately not ”on the shelf” available as the Perkins are, we now carry one in stock !
🔩 Remove and replace cracked/warped exhaust manifold and extract snapped studs on a CAT/Perkins crusher engine.
🛢️ Case crawler with “oil noise & pressure problems” filter block bypass valve fitted the right way around, pressure regained, oil throffing and noisy, pump tested ok, found pipe clamp missing, replace clamp all sorted.
🛠️ New fan bracket on a manitou and new bearings all round + belt, 1 less noise.
🪓 Bobcat ram fitting knocked off, quick fix, tap hole out to BSP get a male/male & dowty in and hole to replace metal pipe.
🧰 little Takeuchi fuel problem & service whilst there.
🪛 Volvo digger hydraulic issue, building good pressure but all services slow, quick reading off the flow meter, best course of action, pump off and away, noticed strainer not properly fitted in Hyd tank, knock on affect oil drum security ring lodged in pump …
⚙️ new spurious final drive assembly sourced to replace original that was going to cost more to repair.
🔩 Drill out snapped bolts on a case crawler & refit exhaust system.
⚡️Latching relay swapped to negative switching to replace very expensive genuine replacement for offset - slew switching circuit on 8027z JCB
🔆 Gyru-star bucket demonstrations
⚡️ Magni wiring repairs
👨🏻‍💻 Assist trying to find intermittent fault using diagnostic computer to watch fuel pressures.
🩺 Hydraulic pump regulator fault diagnosed
🚜 Manitou handbrake stripped cleaned and correctly set up and a bit watch of the old D9g doing a bit of grunting 💪🏻
✨ trying to work my magic on a 3 ton Thwaites being sorted out to sell locally once it’s been through the workshop.
🔧 Complete rotation circuit added and wired to joystick buttons and modifications to make existing aux circuit controlled by joystick buttons and pedal not just pedal on Volvo EC140B.
⚙️ New spurious final drive sourced and fitted to a Liebherr excavator.
