We did it! Thanks to everyone who joined us on this incredible journey. It's been a whirlwind of effort and determination, right down to the wire, but we've achieved something truly remarkable together.

🏠 Total Raised: £252,600 for the Looe Flats

👏 Investors: A big shout-out to the 203 individuals who believed in our cause, contributing a total of £112,600 from their own pockets.

🌍 Community Support: Nearly half of our investors are local residents, with another 25% from nearby areas like Liskeard and the Rame Peninsula. The rest? Well, they come from all corners of the country, possibly even some of our cherished holiday visitors!

🎉 Additional Support: Thanks to YOUR generosity, we received a fantastic boost! The Co-ops UK "Booster Fund" awarded us an additional £100,000, and the Community Shares ICOF in Bristol pitched in an impressive £40,000. Together, these contributions complete our finance package, securing the £2 million needed for our building project.

This is to advise everyone of a change to our Looe Coastguard Flats shares target.

The community shares campaign is attracting a huge amount of interest and a lot of investors, but the total raised so far is relatively low. This has brought home just how severe the Cost of Living crisis really is, and confirmed what we knew already: decent housing that people can afford, and low bills, are hugely important.

We’re going to persist and keep pushing the publicity, and we’re tremendously grateful to everyone who has bought shares – but it’s clear that we won’t reach our initial target of £250,000.

After long discussion, we have decided to reduce our aim to a more modest £100,000 from our supporters. This will of course be doubled by the Co-ops UK Booster Fund, so taking us close to our original target. We will seek further grants/loans to complete the budget for the remainder.

Revitalising Looe: The Transformation of Coastguard Flats - Cornish Stuff In an ambitious move to revitalise a piece of Looe's heritage while addressing local housing needs, the community is rallying to save and restore the historic Coastguard Flats on North Rd. This Grade II listed building, owned by the Council and situated in the heart of West Looe, stands on the brink...

It has come to our attention that some people have wanted to check on the legal status of Three Seas Cornwall, but have inadvertently gone to the wrong register. We would like to clarify the position and reassure our members and investors as follows:

Three Seas Cornwall is a Community Benefit Society – a community cooperative - registered in November 2023 with the Financial Conduct Authority, our governing body. This is the organisation responsible for the project to save the Looe Coastguard Flats. Our registration certificate and details can be found at the FCA Mutuals Register: Mutuals Public Register: Three Seas Cornwall https://mutuals.fca.org.uk/Search/Society/31571

Before creating the new Three Seas Cornwall structure, we ran a separate Limited Company, with charity registration, called Three Seas Ltd. In September 2023, the Board of Directors decided to close this company and move our work to the new Three Seas Cornwall – as above – because the new legal form is better suited to our aims.

The closure of the old unwanted company has taken far longer than expected, due to delays at Companies House. As a result, the name still appears on that register, showing imminent closure and also overdue annual accounts. These are administrative questions and nothing at all to do with Three Seas Cornwall, the community shares or the future of our project.
