There is so much to catch up on from this week just gone, and everything will get its moment to shine but truthfully, we couldn’t wait a moment more to reflect on this year’s Farnham Fireworks
Some of you might remember the reflection on last year’s event – holding hands up here, it was a total disaster. Generators failing just before the thousands of spectators finished their torchlit walk up Castle Street to reach Farnham Park meant our entire plan for service went out the window. We were dependent upon just one coffee machine set up next to a completely redundant hot chocolate and tea serving station to try and serve close to 8000 spectators. Our service was slow, our staff pushed to keep smiling through, and then to wrap it all off we also got totally stuck in the mud trying to leave. It led to some serious deflation from our side, having seen all our planning miss the mark.
But pan to the year thats happened since. We’ve had some truly one-of-a-kind members join the team, maintained the hilarious spirits of The Coffee Can whilst using last year as a learning experience, and that meant that last night was one of the proudest events we’ve pulled off. Now look, it wasn’t without its drama (owner Amy was stuck at home after pulling ligaments in her spine just days before – but that’s another post entirely). But the team pulled together to execute the most spectacular events we’ve ever attended. Without even considering coffee, the stats show that a hot chocolate was whipped up and sent out every 30 seconds for the entire several hours the event went on. Add in our coffees, teas, cold drinks and cakes… honestly the team was just on fire.
It’s events like these which make you truly grateful for the team you have around you, and last night was testament to how lucky we are to be built around such a wonderful crew. Thank you people of Farnham for showing up once again for the Farnham Fireworks, we’ve rested easy today don’t you worry.
Over on the Bourne Green, official pumpkin adjudicator Laura has been hard at work today deciding which pumpkins are the winners of the Pavilion Pumpkin Contest! 🎃👻🎉
We can now reveal our three winners, and we think you’ll agree that they are absolutely amazing! We must say that we received fantastic drawings from SO MANY incredible artists, so a huge well done to everyone who entered - we are surrounded by such a talented bunch!
The Bourne Green Pavilion coffee bar is open seven days a week, complete with toys and books for the little ones whilst you parents enjoy that much needed caffeine
Can you believe this week sees us into November? Honestly no, neither can we. But we are out and about and on the move a lot this week! Head to stories for a quick round up on where Duncan and Candice are off to, but for a more detailed round-up, keep scrolling down🚦
🛞 we’re heading back to the familiar grounds of Gostrey Meadows for the Lantern Festival on Thursday (from 5pm)! Cannot wait to see so many of our OG Farnham regulars
🚙 Halloween Hoedown over at Newbury Showground on Friday and Saturday with
🎆 You know it, you love it - will it be as drama-filled us last year for us? Who knows. But we’re back at Farnham Fireworks in the park on Saturday night… let’s see where the night takes us 😅
Plus our usual teams at Secretts and the Bourne Green will be keeping you all caffeinated 7 days a week
Bring it on! ☕️
Rise and shine, it’s the weekend! And as we all know, the best weekend starts with a morning coffee and a pastry, right?
We’re dialled in on the espresso machine and ready to start your weekend off over at both Bourne Green Pavilion, and Secrett’s Farm Shop in Milford
Catch you there ☕️
Weekend #1 of Pumpkin Week 2024 was an absolute storm (quite literally as it turned out) 🎃
Huge thanks to everyone who started their picking adventure with us at the cafe, or chose to get a hot chocolate to warm up for the journey home after. The weather certainly didn’t dampen the spirits of those we welcomed to our cafe! As always, massive thanks to the team who worked non-stop.
And from this Friday, we get to continue the spooktacular fun all throughout half term! We’ve checked in with the guys out in the pumpkin fields, and tickets are still available for Fri25th/Mon28th/Tues29th/Weds30th - other than that, this year is SOLD OUT so if you’re debating doing it, just book those tickets!!
Over at , Pumpkin Week kicks off THIS WEEKEND! Can you believe it’s that time of year already?! 🎃
You best believe we have our pumpkin spice at the ready, our weekly specials board prepped and primed for the families we’ll see through the café door, and our best pumpkin carving skills to hand.
Over the past week, the view from our café window has been turning more and more orange. With a definite chill in the air, we couldn’t be more in the pumpkin mood. We’re taking a little look back over last year’s events to get you all in the spooky spirit ahead of launch weekend. Before you pick up your wheelbarrow and head to the fields, don’t forget to drop by our on-site café so you parents can fuel up on caffeine whilst we get mini hot chocolates prepped for the little ones.

I absolutely love this picture, taken this time 3 years ago on the Shepherd and Flock! Only 20 days after opening our doors, we had a very quick and harsh lesson in how cold weather effects outdoor catering (especially water pipes) 🤔 It was all a learning curve for us, and we still dont always get it spot on. So without garage facilities it is almost impossible to always keep the cold out!
This-morning when I ran some shots through my machine some ice had formed somewhere in the system (despite greenhouse heaters and insulated covers) 😕
So I am going to spend tomorrow trouble shooting the water system and fixing any issues!! Sorry for any disappointment, we will be back out and serving ASAP!!
