Another of those moments when I read about one or other of my super powers and suddenly something clicks. I've never been good at respecting authority for its own sake. I think I'm pretty loyal if it's been earned from me, but if it hasn't then you are barking up the wrong tree!

The silent struggles of workers with ADHD 14/12/2022

This is a really good article that gives a powerful insight into the challenges that undiagnosed ADHD created for me for the entirety of my education and the first 32 years of my working life. Coupled with the social issues that come with Asperger's, it was a tough place to be, yet I thought it was normal for many years, and then, more damagingly, I started to feel out of place which led to all sorts of poor experiences and mental health issues. Being diagnosed and medicated does not remove these challenges entirely, but it does allow me to manage them more readily, but I am fortunate as I have a supportive employer in my present role, many are not so lucky!

The silent struggles of workers with ADHD Unlike their neurotypical counterparts, workers with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder often find themselves left behind.

I met a man from an ADHD charity and it was like meeting myself. Ideas, thoughts and half-thoughts tumbled out | Adrian Chiles It was, to paraphrase the great Eric Morecambe, a conversation containing all the right notes, if not necessarily in the right order – but I learned enough to change my mind about two long-held opinions
