The aim is to join together in a high vibrational ceremonial space at an important energetic point in the week.

Hot mineral bath time at a Ryokan Inn

So, once relaxing, we switch into these delightful robes - warm and comfortable. There is a slipper rule which is very sensible to avoid traipsing outdoor dirt and energy to indoors. There are spare slippers left at the front door, back door and toilet door which one must switch to as one passeds the thresholds of these spaces.

These pics show the practice. It is a beautiful ritual that makes so much sense. It makes me stop and reflect before each of these rooms going in and coming out!

The bath is a mineral one. First one must shower to be completely clean, then one removes all clothing and enters the mineral bath.

Two can be showering whilst two use the bath. It is too hot to remain in for longer than 10 minutes. Everyone is naked (females and males bathe separately at this inn) so as not to ruin clothes or the integrity of the water. It felt very divine feminine as we all stripped back to our barest selves allowing ourselves to feel vulnerable. It has each time proved a deeply healing and bonding experience.

One then washes off the minerals and re-dons the cloaks.

Oh yes…food of night 3. I actually got so carried away I missed photographing a course tonight. All a bit of a blur after todays expeditions. Definitely becoming accustomed to the huge volume of good - much to the delight of our hosts who wish us to eat every scrap in order to feel they have served us to maximum fulfilment. It’s too good not to! 😍 ❤️ 👺👺👺👺👺

In the afternoon, we went on up higher on the mountain for an ignition to Holy Fire World Peace Reiki in the spot where Dr Usui received his.

This was a big deal. Already blown away by the mornings temple adventures this ignition was beyond blissful.

We went off into the woods and lay down. Beautifully connected between Mother Earths power and the warmth of the sun in father sky as William Rand, our Reiki Master led our ignition.

It was an enchanting spot with ancient energies that go way beyond even Dr Usui. Tibetan, Shinto monks, priests and gods have been channelling on this sacred piece of ground for thousands of years.

These pictures show the plateau where Usui Sensai spent his 21 day fast, the famous tree roots where he stubbed his toe while descending the mountain in euphoric bliss (only to find he could heal it himself), the fallen tree with the spirit of god still residing within and the views I had from my recumbent position during the ignition

Another beautiful day up the mountain.

We were very fortunate in the morning to be taken into a blessing that was going on in the temple. It felt serendipitous that this happened the day after we channelled reiki from the energy triangle in front of the temple. I make this connection as it was just the five of us who did this yesterday that found ourselves in the right place at the right time receiving a blessing in support of our intentions this morning. The 5 of us sat at the most ornate alter I have ever seen (no pics allowed) and a female high priestess Shinto Buddhist (most divine feminine I have yet witnessed in flesh) chanted, gonged, sang our names in Japanese and gave us a blessing lasting 30 minutes! It was the most surreal experience I have ever had. As the beautiful priestess turned to us and raised her hands in final blessing, all 5 of us began to cry together in synchronicity - humbled to our barest bones 🙏🤍💫

A Shinto Shrine ⛩️ called Yuki, on Mount Kurama.

Today I was very fortunate as we were able to explore the mountain more fully and I was joined by Elsie and Ken Loch who both can read and speak Japanese. It meant I was able to take part and fully embrace many of the many rituals of the mountain.

First we rang the bell, clapped, prayed and bowed thanks at Yuki Shrine.

Then we washed our hands with the water of the mountain as a cleansing ritual.

In the temple we shook a black box and allowed a single stick to fall out that would tell us our fortunes - we used google translate to understand them! Mine was number 8 and good fortune thankfully 💫🤍🌸

Then we rang a giant singing bowl that echoed around the valley - it was deeply cleansing.

Later we travelled to the west side of the mountain to the visit the water God, another shrine where we again had a fortune reading - this time we had to choose a blank piece of paper and dip it into the water for it to appear. Mine was 17 and again in summary good fortune.

There were other highlights but these constituted the mountain rituals. The vibration of each ritual felt very light and pure. The money we donated went into the cycle ⭕️ of mountain protection and longevity of its care. So much needed to ensure it remains a high vibrational and sacred space to visit.

At the top of Mount Kurama towered these beautiful, great pines. Their roots exposed. I was immediately drawn to connect with them and say Hi.

It reminded me so much of a practice I used to do most mornings when I lived at collycroft, where I would walk up the hill in the motorcycle woods and connect with the beautiful silver birches as they swayed in the breeze. They used to mop up my pains and over spilling emotions and then help me to send love out into the world. It was before I had taken reiki so it was my own form of reiki back then.

It felt like I was completing a circle today as I stood with these ancient wonders who have healed so many. Undoubtedly, in my mind anyway, they would have been connected through the earth (and in the vibrations of the collective conscience) to the humble birches of collycroft. Perhaps they are always sending out their whispers to draw in those that wish to listen. It felt almost too overwhelming to fully appreciate and I’m sure this will gently keep landing with me over the next few days as I spend more and more time in their holy presence ⛩️💫🤍🙏🌸

Mount Kurama Yama

The origins of Usui Reiki. This is the mountain where Usui Sensai climbed, meditated and subsequently channelled Reiki and the symbols. Reiki had been around long, long, long before that time but without a way of attuning others to the energy. This was therefore the beginning of our modern day Reiki attunements.

It is certainly a very healing and sacred space for all. I am so grateful to have come and looking forward to experiencing the energies and adding to the experience that becomes the essence of my Reiki Classes at Best You 🤍💫🙏⛩️

Amaterasu - The Goddess of Light

Amaterasu is is the most powerful Goddess in the Shinto religion. She's the solar Goddess of Japanese mythology. Her name means "shining in heaven."

Amaratesau retreated to a cave to heal herself from powerful emotions. Curiosity at the jovial play of others brought her back out and as she saw her own reflection laughing she witnessed her own light shining and once more lit up the world!

Intention: We are all sacred mirrors reflecting the same divine light.

The other two cards are from my Native American Wisdom pack that I got in Williams Town. It felt important to bring these with me as I continue my spiritual journey.

The 5 of clubs immediately showed me the foxes 🦊 from inari today. It looks as though they are holding matches ready to spark a flame 🔥. This is so much the energy I felt from their beautiful orange shrine today. So many of you have commented on this vibrant
colour. It really does feel like a huge shift and
brightening today.

The 3rd card is my old classic favourite the Ace ♠️ that is also called the death card because it represents an end and a beginning. Such a beautiful note on which to end this very special day.

Kinkaku-Ji The Golden Pavilion

After a quick tumble dry of my feet and a light lunch this was a beautifully zen space.

Despite the teaming rain and many people it was stunning and reminded me very much of being at home on Dartmoor - sodden wet, mossy trees and breathtakingly beautiful.

I can’t believe it could have felt any better than it did today.

Definitely been a deeply cleansing day and after a very powerful shower in the Wise Owl Hostel I am ready for a proper sleep before heading across to Mount Kurama Yama tomorrow. Thank goodness, sun is forecast so it will be a different place again by morning.

I’m not too sure how much I’ll post on retreat but I’ll take photos.

Inari Fukushima ‘Fox’ shrine, Kyoto, Japan

Today is incredibly wet. I’m so grateful for my waterproofs (my feet will dry) and luckily it’s still about 19C.

This Mount Inari shrine felt very cleansing after all the travelling, especially with the rain. I sat at the top and sent out some Reiki healing ⛩️🤍🙏💫

I felt much lighter coming down the mountain and back through the sacred arches. The foxes 🦊 ate up any heavy energy and lifted my soul 😊

Now warming up over hot, sweet, green tea and pasta before the Kinkakujii temple.

I went up the first shrine at 6am to avoid the crowds and now the rain is definitely starting to dissipate many folks enthusiasm again. I’m certainly looking forward to a nice hot shower later!

We have some exciting news to share! We're off to record some more of our podcast today, and we're hoping to launch it next week. This is a big step for us, and we can't wait to share our discussions and insights with you all. Stay tuned for updates, and watch this space!

This break, I am heading off to a Reiki Retreat in Japan, at Mount Kurama, the origins of the Reiki energy that we tap into during our Reiki Meditations, Reiki Sessions & Reiki Placements.

Whilst there I will receive further placements of Reiki energy and learn from some seriously super Reiki folks. I am certain this will be a deeply meaningful experience and continue my development with and commitment to this beautiful way of life, living & healing 🌸⛩️🤍🙏

I shall send healing out to all regularly at spiritual sites and aim to take plenty of photos too!
