Cllr Mark Verbinnen - Amesbury East and Bulford
Wiltshire Councillor for Amesbury East and Bulford
An unauthorised encampment in Amesbury has been lawfully moved following work by Wiltshire Police and Amesbury Town Council.
Residents expressed concerns around the incursion, which arrived on Wednesday (30/08) and consisted of around 20 vehicles at Bonnymead Park.
After liaising with the landowner and communicating with those trespassing on the site, we used powers under section 61 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act to direct people and vehicles to leave the area.
This was enforced on Sunday afternoon (03/09) with all persons leaving the site. Work is now underway with the council to prevent further occurrences happening in future.
Thanks to the BBC for again highlighting the awful situation the residents of Sandell Place face.
We’re pleased to confirm that we’re working with 16 organisations to provide this year’s Summer FUEL programme, providing a range of fun activities throughout the county.

We’ve been with the residents of Sandell Place flats this afternoon with Wiltshire Council Offers and have secured accommodation for everyone. Considering the awful situation they find themselves in, I would like to pay tribute to everyone for keeping their spirits high and coming together.
Devistated for those effected by the flat fire in Amesbury today. We have managed to get temporary accommodation tonight for everyone who needed it and Wiltshire Council will be contacting everyone tomorrow about further accommodation. Thanks to the Baptist Church for opening their doors today and Amesbury Town Council staff who set up some emergency accommodation.
Happy Wiltshire Day!

I just attended the Amesbury and Boscombe Down Link Scheme AGM. Common theme, they are desperate for drivers. Could you help?
