We’ve had a lot of new followers recently so wanted to reintroduce ourselves! We’ve spoken a lot about our new refuge recently but just a reminder that we also offer outreach support on a national scale. If you or someone you know needs support, please get in touch 💜🏳️⚧️
A well deserved shortlisting for our founder! Thank you to DIVA for recognising all of the great work Amanda does to ensure that the Emily Davison Centre is as diverse as possible 💜
Our chair and founder has been nominated for a Diva Magazine award.
This is a great surprise, looking forward to a good night in London in April. Thanks DIVA Magazine

UK's first trans and non-binary domestic violence refuge opens The UK's first domestic violence refuge has opened in the UK for applications aged over 18 who need to escape domestic abuse.
We are pleased to announce that our trans+ refuge for victims of domestic abuse is now open!
We’d like to thank everyone who donated to, or even shared our fundraiser- thanks to you, we have been able to furnish and decorate our refuge to a high standard. Loving Me would also like to thank The Rank Foundation and the Sam and Bella Sebba Charitable Foundation for their investment and support in purchasing the refuge.
Our CEO, Moss said “everyday trans and non-binary people are struggling to find safe accommodation that will allow them to be free of their abusers. We are so proud to be opening this refuge, a warm, welcoming and supportive environment where members of our community can feel safe and supported and begin to rebuild their lives.”
The team are taking referrals so if you or anyone you know is experiencing abuse, whether they need refuge or just support, call in via our helpline on 07902 478958 or email [email protected]
🏳️⚧️2024 Resolutions 🏳️⚧️
Fleeing abuse is a difficult but necessary change to make in your life. Just like a new year’s resolution, it starts with you. Although you don’t have to endure it alone, reach out to friends, people you trust and LGBT+ services like ours.
We hope our advocacy, helpline and emotional support can play a part in that network.
This new year is significant for us as we’ve entered it having just opened up our trans+ refuge!
🕤 Christmas Opening Hours ‼️
Wishing you all a safe and happy festive period 💜
Our statement at Lovingme regarding the proposed trans school guidance.
This guidance continues to fuel hostility at our community and ignores the facts that LGBT+ services like ours and many others are aware of. The rights of trans youth should be protected not further isolated.
We will continue to advocate for our community and support people affected by domestic abuse.
If you have concern about your safety at home follow our website - you can talk to us over phone, email or live chat.

Trans day of remembrance
Page 1
Today, we are remembering the lives of those from our community who have been taken from us. Those whose names we know, and those we don’t.
Page 2
We believe that every trans person has the right to be safe.
If you are being abused, get in touch to speak to one of our workers.
We are run and staffed by members of the trans+ community for the community
This we want to draw attention to the voices of trans people in our lives. Over the next few days we’ll be sharing words of encouragement and joy from loved ones and the people who use our service 🏳️⚧️
Day 3 - A non binary friend to one of our workers expressing joy in the changes to their way of living. It makes me reflect on the people that access our service, seeing the courage and resilience in them making both the choice to seek help from abuse and live within their identity is inspiring. I wish for us all to have the means to embrace the world we’ve been unable to reach 🏳️⚧️

Slide 1 - Day 3 of Trans Joy - A non binary friend of a worker - It has almost been 3 years since I acknowledged myself, with each day, week and month; more of my life fell into place, I feel more at place in my mind and body, I can embrace the world at last
Slide 2 - Trans joy - For the next 3 days we want to highlight some words of joy and encouragement from Trans people; workers at the charity our loved ones and the people we support
Slide 3 - Trans Awareness Week November 13-19
This we want to draw attention to the voices of trans people in our lives. Over the next few days we’ll be sharing words of encouragement and joy from loved ones and the people who use our service 🏳️⚧️
Day 2 - The cis wife of one of our trans female workers talks with love for her partner. It means a lot when the cis people and allies in our lives open themselves to understanding and advocating for our identities. It shouldn’t have to be a surprise when people empathise with who we are, it should be the norm, expressed beautifully here “it just means we are human” 🏳️⚧️

Slide 1 - Day 2 of Trans Joy - The cis wife of one of our trans female workers - my trans wife is beautiful, loving and caring and our union since her transition is stronger than ever. We just want the same rights as ever go else - how can anyone argue against this? This does not mean we are activists! It just means we are human.

Day 1 - Lucy, a domestic abuse survivor shares her encouraging words. It can often feel like things are divided against you, particularly if you’re trans and especially if you’re also in an abusive environment. Knowing there’s support and community who have our best interests at heart brings us closer to that feeling of unity

Consortium are doing a showcase presenting several trans focused charities, organisations and grassroots groups who are working in our community to uplift and empower trans people

It’s ! Today is a day to show support for anyone coming out as LGBTQ+. In theory, now should be the safest time ever to come out but we know that’s not necessarily true, especially with the current political stance on LGBTQ+ issues.
Today, we’re sending our support to those who have come out in such a difficult world to come out in but also to those who haven’t been able to yet. We see you and you are valid 💜
What advice would you give to someone thinking about coming out? Comment below ⬇️
It’s and we wanted to remind everyone to check their chests, regardless of gender! We’re aware many in the community may not feel comfortable to this but we wanted to offer you (limited) the information that we’ve seen.
We also acknowledge that this study doesn’t take into account non-binary people who’s risk may vary depending on gender assigned at birth and whether they are on hormones or not, amongst other factors.
Please visit https://www.breastcanceruk.org.uk/resource-for-transgender-people/ for more info on this and for sources. The link is also in our bio 🔗

You are always non-binary enough 🖤💜🤍💛
Update time! We’ve started to buy some bits for the refuge and have been slowly but surely putting them in their places, but now we need your help again…
This time it’s to help us name our bedrooms! So, who’s your trans+ icon? Maybe it’s Marsha Johnson or Elliot Page? Comment below and we’ll pick our top 7 to name the rooms after 🏳️⚧️💜
We are so excited to announce that we’ve bought a refuge! 🏠🔑
The 7 bedroom property will be able to house over 7 trans+ people fleeing abuse at any one time. We can’t wait to open and begin providing this vital service as we really struggle to find refuge space for our clients, sometimes simply because they are trans+.
If you’re in a place to donate please do- however, we understand that not everyone is able to donate money so please feel free to share our post instead as this will help just as much 💜 Refuge Q&A soon?
