Update:
Last week, I wrote to Welsh Water and Redrow to request a meeting with community representatives to discuss any alternative options.

Hailey Park Sewage Pumping Station- some clarity

1. The planning permission has been granted

2. Cardiff Council can quash that decision at any time

3 The Barrister instructed by Llandaff North Residents' Association has written to the Council asking them to quash the decision. A response is due back on Tues 18th

4. If Cardiff Council quash the decision and refuse planning permission Welsh Water will look for alternative sites not in the park

5. If they don't quash the decision the community will have to take this to judicial review at a cost of £50k

We are asking all local residents, elected representatives and organisations to petition the Council - let them know that this work can't go ahead but we would rather local residents didn't have to pay £50k to stop it.

Dilwar Ali , Anna McMorrin MP Julie Morgan MS Jen B-D, Mark Drakeford we are asking you to speak to and write to Cardiff Council to tell them that we expect them to quash this decision on Tuesday and we will not stop fighting until planning permission is withdrawn

***Hailey Park Update***

Today, Thursday, 30 June 2022, an updated notice has been published in the Western mail confirming that the public notice relating to Hailey Park Was incorrect and apologising for the error.

The original public notice, dated 27 May 2022, is no longer relevant and the Council have been in discussion with Whitchurch Sports and Social Club regarding the Changing Rooms and the pitches at Hailey Park, and given the level of interest interest, the Council has decided to halt that process and undertake a market testing exercise to give all relevant organisations and clubs an opportunity to bid.

The City Hospice continued its vital services supporting people at the end of their lives, and their families, all the way through the pandemic. Don’t forget about the City Hospice Forever Flowers appeal. You can find more details here: https://www.cityhospice.org.uk/forever-flowers/

***Waste Update***

From 1 July 2022, residents who use the red and white waste bags will no longer recieve them.

Instead they will have to buy their own black bags and can leave them outside. Residents can instead present up to 3 black bags per collection. Residents will need to purchase black bags themselves If residents have red striped bags left at their property, these can be used until they run out. Then, they will move to black bags

This change will impact around 14,000 properties, mainly within the inner City areas. In Llandaff North, there are 304 households that will be affected and written to.

This change will save the Council in excess of £50k per annum.

🌾 Re: Hailey Park
An advert was placed in the Western Mail on 27/5/22 by under s.123 of the Local Government Act 1972, outlining a proposal to dispose of 59,000 square metres of land at Hailey Park. The advert should have referred to 1,500 square metres.

Applications are open for unpaid carers in Wales, who are receiving Carers Allowance, to apply for a one-off £500 payment.

The payment, funded by the Welsh Government, is in recognition of the invaluable work that unpaid carers do and to help with increasing pressures due to the pandemic and the cost of living crisis.

📅 Applications are open until 15 July.

More details on how to apply can be found here 👇
