Last week, I spent some amazing time with some beautiful people, sharing a beautiful roller bottle of Pure Essential oils with Wild Orange and Bergamot Mint in it. This is a gorgeous smelling blend that often reminds people of a Chocolate Orange or a sweet that used to bring them joy. That isn’t why I created it 😂 but if that’s a part, then I love it. The reason for bringing these two incredible oils together was they both are adaptogenic oils and they can lend themselves wonderfully to creating a feeling of peace or uplifting energy, needed for a busy week or stress filled time. What a blast 💥
Sunday morning Pickleball with friends and new players alike.
Always feels so good to get outside in the fresh air and move my body.
Movement is crucial for good health along with good eating habits and solid wellbeing practices.
I haven’t always been like this, in fact for years I let go of myself and fell into a deep state of self sabotage and diregard.
It wasn’t until I found my aromatherapy and my passion for self care that I stepped up to the plate of health responsibility and said “ Alex, you need to take control “.
I stepped into new education, started working with wellbeing practitioners and started taking care of me.
Getting to a good space is a combination of many factors, its balance.
What do you do in combination?

When someone mentions Natural Health and Wellbeing, why does this cause so much fear, confusion and negativity?
Is it because, people think it’s all woohoo?
Possibly that Natural health has a lack of connection to science? That there is a suggestion that Medicine is a no no?
We’ll let me help with some understanding.
Natural Health and Wellbeing is the responsibility we have as humans to take care of our own health on a daily basis. You can choose how you do this, by daily exercise, healthy eating, all the positive and classic ways. You can also choose to incorporate alternative practices that give you emotional peace, physical release and mindful joy.
Behind many of these alternatives lies quite a lot of science 🧪
Take aromatherapy for example, I choose to use Essential Oils that have proven research, Clinical trials and are backed by Published documents. These incredible oils along with my years of learning can support many health issues without having to attend a doctor. However when I see clients and the issues are definitely more serious or medical then I absolutely suggest medical intervention and attention.
The work of a wholistic healer doesn’t discourage science, it is a partnership to seeing success for all.
I do hope this has given some clarity on how I and other practitioners work.

January is almost over, and to be honest it can feel pretty heavy and emotionally exhausting for many.
We often feel an emptiness following the busy holiday months, and cold gray skies don’t help.
We still have to get up and go to work, and fulfill our roles in all aspects of life. These are Calls to Action that must be be done.
However who amongst you fulfills Calls to Action for your personal, mental and physical wellbeing?
Today I think we all need to work on this.
Grab a piece of paper and write down a few, simple actions that will lift your weary head and bring you some joy.
Perhaps, just take 5 minutes to read and article that you have bypassed because you were too busy.
Step outside and take a brisk 5 minute walk, or even just a simple 1 minute close of your eyes to just sit and breathe.
Give yourself a pat on the back for an achievement 🙌

Do you like New Year? Resolutions etc?
Some find this season rather hard to take, it fills them with overwhelm and anxiety, that the goals they set or the achievements they feel they “must “ make are not attainable, but pressure is on to be better, to do it all, and too look a certain part.
Others find this time of year, exhilarating and full of opportunities, new beginnings.
It’s their time to step up and into a space they have been waiting for. This isn’t easy, but they are driven to succeed.
Which are you? Or maybe neither.
Either way, both offer their challenges, and some suppprt is often needed.
As an Aromatherapist I want to share that, pure Essential oils are full of beautiful natural compounds that can benefit both sides of this.
They can calm nerves, reset emotions, help fight or flight and uplift when needed.

Overwhelm, what is it?
Comes in many guises and often hits at times we least expect.
However it can really rear its head at Christmas, or large celebrations.
Overwhelm has a huge effect on our nervous system and also our digestive system. It causes blockages and can wreak havoc with our mental health.
This oil blend below, has many oils that are great at supporting and carry us through tough times.
Take Wild Orange 🍊 a wonderful adaptogenic oil that works both with uplift and calm, Copaiba that has amazing CB 2 receptor response, Lavender, full of calm active Esters, Neroli, a hero to our amygdala.

I share this because, even if you don’t have this oil or a blend like this, utilise what you may have in your home.
Grab an orange from your fruit bowl and breathe in, pop into the garden and smell a plant, even gently rubbing a branch of your Christmas tree, will illicit a calming response.

Working alone as a one woman show can be tough, especially at this time of year.
Hearing about all the company Christmas party’s and gatherings, can make one feel a step outside of the “fun”.
Not me! I am 100% ok with this. Everyday as a solo business woman, I make choices on who I spend time with ( or not ) and when.
I say this every year, I love my clients and I love my fellow Solo business owners.
There is shared bravery and determination, there is inspiration and passion and desire and drive. What wonderful words to take with you on a daily journey.
To each their own right?

I had the great fortune of visiting the beautiful city of Salzburg this past weekend.
Oh what a place🌟 a delight to the senses.
One of the reasons I wanted to go, is the Christmas markets 🎄 and the Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart 🎶 Apartments.
Music is a very special part of my relaxation. It’s taking time to just hold a space for self. Doing this can bring clarity and peace x

Peppermint 🌿
What an amazing plant.
So, last week I was chatting with a client having a lovely check in and catch up. Always love follow ups, love my clients ❤️
Anyway, as we were talking she mentioned to me that one night, the neuropathy in her feet was so painful that it woke her up. She looked at her bedside table and the only essential oil that was there, by chance was Peppermint.
In desperation she thought, “ heck, let’s give it a try on my feet”.
Well much to her surprise and amazement, within minutes the pain had settled, then went and she was able to fall asleep again.
Why?
Well Peppermint is full of menthol, methyl Esters, and menthofuran. Research has shown that because of these compounds Peppermint is of great use for nerve damage and sensitivity.
How cool is this?
We were using it as a digestive support oil but it’s versatility is incredible.

Taking some time to breathe in the winter aromas and feel the winter warmth on my face.
Always good to get outside and walk in the beautiful natural spaces we have in London. Lucky me.

If everyone was the same and we didn’t have neurodivergent people around us, then we would probably all walk through life with a little less interest.
We often won’t know who they are or what makes them unique to us, but I feel lucky.
Having a child who is neurodivergent has been a blessing, as he sees so much more than I can in many situations.
He is thoughtful as well as thought provoking, he is open and engaged and really looks philosophically at the every day matters.
I love watching his journey and although some days can be a little tougher than others, it all balances out in the end.
We all have our quirks and so we all need to be more kind and open to each other.

SLEEP 💤 💤💤💤💤💤💤
Sleep is in the news again today.
70% of adults in the U.K. are only getting 5 hours sleep a night.
Why is this a problem?
A lack of solid sleep at the recommended 6-8 hours can lead to numerous health issues. These can include stress, anxious feelings, anger, brain fog.l, as well as many other physiological issues also. Such as heightened blood pressure, diabetes, a weekend immune system, weight gain and issues with our cognitive functioning.
What can we do to help ourselves and those we love?
Create a great sleep routine:
1. Try to turn off all media ( phones, tablets, TV ) an hour before you go to bed
2. Try to go to bed at the same time each night.
3. Create a cozy sleep environment for yourself. Hot water bottle, low lighting.
4. Diffuse some Ester based pure Essential oils, such as Roman Chamomile, Lavender, Petitgrain, Wild Orange, Cedarwood, Arborvitae…… the list is endless.
Doing all of this isn’t easy, but once you establish a good routine ( usually takes 3 weeks) you will start to notice small
changes. Every change can make a big difference.

Look what I made!!!!! I absolutely love it. One of my besties .essential.drop.of.joy did this with me in CANADA and I am obsessed. It’s a USB camping light. We went to a Turkish lamp making morning in NewWestminster and I created this. Just needed to show it off as I am loving sitting outside in the fresh autumn air and lightning the way. Of course I still have my diffuser out there too with beautiful autumnal smells but what a bonus to have this light. 🍁

I love this picture, it has so much meaning and the meaning will be different to many.
Today when I see this, it is a reflection of our current world and the turmoil that many of us are struggling to understand at this time.
There is a thick fog of uncertainty and for some dispair.
Why have I put this up you may be asking?
Because I want everyone to know that finding ones self feeling a certain way is ok. We can’t always be on a high or uplifted path at all times. What we can do though, is utilise the beauty of nature to take a deep breath and find some relief.
This may come as a quick walk in the park, sitting and relaxing with a cup of tea and a book, or like me, utilising the essential oils from my work to relieve concerns and create uplift, or stir a memory of a happier time, bring some respite to the strain.
As an Aromatherapist I work with beautiful pure oils that support real and raw emotion. Helping clients find clarity and passion, happiness and relief.

Actually, I am in a really good place emotionally and spiritually but man, I do love just sitting on the couch with my boy Eric, on a cold rainy day and just snuggling 🐾. My diffuser is outputting Serenity and Harvest Spice, creating a cosy and calm atmosphere and Eric & I are in heaven. ☔️
