🗓 The Early Years​
Apeks was founded in 1974 from a passion to create exceptional SCUBA products and a desire to deliver their own vision. ​

Friends and former colleagues, Ken Smith Ainscough and Eric Partington, combined their technical genius and entrepreneurial expertise to form a perfect partnership. Their name, an acronym of their initials, reflected this synergy🙌

Ken engineered his concepts into reality, while Eric's love of technology drove business growth. Apeks began by fabricating weight belt buckles in Eric's garage, but throughout the 1970s, they continued to innovate.​

With a rich heritage of local engineering, Apeks hired specialist talent and kept manufacturing in-house to maintain the high quality expected by the market🤩

As Apeks community and experienced divers, we all know that human activity can impact even the deepest, coldest and most remote environments where we dive 🌊. This is our playground, and we must become guardians of these places 🌎

Cesare is not solely a Technical Dive Instructor and a Technical & Trimix Instructor Trainer; he also holds a deep fascination for wrecks and has participated in numerous IANTD expeditions. 🚢

🔍 In 2003, he joined the expedition to explore the Austro-Hungarian wreck Szent Istvan in Croatia.

🌊 In 2004, he took on the role of security lead for the German Transatlantic wreck Wilhelm Gustloff in the Baltic Sea.

🇮🇹 In 2005, having uncovered the Italian Battleship Regina Margherita, he led an expedition to Albania to further explore it. Additionally, he successfully located the hospital ship Po.

🔦 In 2007, Cesare's explorations in Albania led to the discovery of two more Italian ships: the torpedo boat Intrepido and the steamship troop transport Re Umberto.

These are just a few examples. 👊 Nowadays, Cesare continues to train instructors, to publish articles to the Italian diving magazine SCUBAZONE.

Marine Biologist by trade, he’s been a passionate diver since he was a child and turned this passion into a career.

🌊 10 years of studying and protecting marine environments, Julien developed a strong expertise in scientific diving, more so to assess the ecological state of ecosystems

He has actively participated in various missions as a diving supervisor and scientific diver 🔬. His experiences include studying seaweeds in the Mediterranean Sea, monitoring coral bleaching in the Indian Ocean, and gathering reef-building corals in French Polynesia at depths ranging from the surface to 175 meters.
