PackDown Summer Results and Congratulations !!

Over the Summer a number of PackDown athletes have achieved some great success. Proving PackDown training has paid off for all of these athletes.

- being awarded a Bath Rugby contract and playing for Bath Rugby United V London Irish. Max is the second PackDown athlete to be given a Bath Rugby contract in two years.

(Bath Rugby contract 2021) - Being selected for England U19 squad who played against Italy , playing for Bath Rugby United V London Irish.

- being selected and playing for England U18 against South Africa.

- being selected and playing for Bath Rugby U18s.

- being selected and playing for Bath Rugby U18s.

- being selected into the ERDPP for Bristol Bears.

And that’s the second season ticked off with the .ladies.rugby. Starting the season assisting with the UAE national women’s team, in which a number of the Dubai Hurricane players represented was a real honour for me after they went and won the West Asia 7s Championship.

Then progressing through the season, unfortunately losing in the final of the Dubai 7s really spurred this special group of players on and resulted in us winning the double (league and finals) !!

Bringing in new players and appointing 2 new coaches in my team has really enhanced the the quality of sessions that the girls are accessing and is proven by the results at the end of the season. A lot of hard work and effort has paid off and now looking forward to a good off season !!

Looking forward to continue this journey with a special group of players and keep learning both on and off the pitch !!

It was great to connect with Warren, he has allowed me to access his wealth of knowledge and share with me his experiences of coaching across all facets of the game. He has also described to me how to enhance and develop key relationships within your environment to get the best out of your athletes. Certainly looking to use some his methods in the upcoming season, which should hopefully bring around some successful result. A top man full of energy and always looking to draw out the positives.

A massive congratulations to first athlete for being inducted into the Senior Academy where he will train alongside the first team and with University of Bath .

Archie was the first athlete that I worked with on a 1:1 basis, since he was 15. We have spent many hours developing his game and he has worked so hard to get to a position where he can commit his future to Bath Rugby, whilst studying at one of the best University’s in the UK.

Having spent this time with Archie we have not just developed a player-coach relationship, but also a good friendship which has allowed him to grow into the player and person he is today !!

“Benji has developed my game massively. The skills I have learnt and mastered during my time with packdown have changed my game forever. Without Benji’s support, I wouldn’t be in the privileged position that I’m in today.

The reason I got so much out of my coaching with Benji is because of our closeness and he really understands me as a player and person. He also knows what makes me tick. I am looking forward to what the future holds for Archie and excited to see where he goes with his Bath Rugby journey and continuing with PackDown Rugby.

A great insight into establishing, creating and understanding positive relationships with players in both of our coaching environments. Significant learning taken from this and a top man who is willing to share his expertise and knowledge. Excited to catch up again and explore further
