PERFECT SAMOSA

Our friends at Perfect Samosa are offering 5 samosas for £11 again, available in Roast Lamb & Rosemary OR Spiced Pumpkin, Sweet Potato & Nutmeg. To celebrate this, they've shared their hummus recipe, which goes amazingly with their samosas- so you can try it at home!

Ingredients:

* 1 tin of chickpeas, rinsed and drained
* ½ teaspoon baking soda/ bicarbonate of soda
* Juice from 1 ½ lemons
* 1 large clove garlic
* ½ teaspoon fine sea salt
* ½ cup tahini
* 2 tablespoons of ice-cold water
* ½ teaspoon ground cumin
* 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
* Any of the following garnishes: drizzle of olive oil, sprinkle of ground paprika, chopped fresh thyme, rosemary and basil

Method:

1. Place the chickpeas in a medium saucepan and add the baking soda. Cover the chickpeas by several inches of water, then bring the mixture to a boil over high heat.

2. Meanwhile, in a food processor or high-powered blender, combine the lemon juice, garlic and salt.

3. Add the tahini to the food processor and blend until the mixture is thick and creamy.

4. While running the food processor, drizzle in 2 tablespoons ice water.

5. Add the cumin and the drained, over-cooked chickpeas to the food processor. While blending, drizzle in the olive oil. Blend until the mixture is super smooth.

6. And voila! Serve and garnish with the herbs and paprika and it’s ready to eat.

Burts Cheese is a fantastic creamy blue cheese handmade in our award-winning dairy just outside Knutsford, Cheshire. Made from pasteurised cow's milk, vegetarian.

These wonderful producers have provided us with a couple of recipes you can try for yourself, using their delicious blue cheese!

👉Thursday 9th April: Manchester and Preston

We will close Tuesday/Wednesday orders on Saturday at 4 pm and Thursday/Friday orders at 4 pm Monday. We will email all customers this week to confirm their delivery slot.

➡️The Burton on Trent Christmas Market featuring the Makers Market, Saturday 7th of December⬅️

East Staffordshire Borough Council are pleased to be teaming up with specialist events experts, The Makers Market, to bring their popular outdoor market to Burton upon Trent for the first time.

The Makers Markets are well known for running markets and events across the UK, featuring local and many award winning traders.

On Saturday 7th December visitors can expect an exciting range of artisan traders and live entertainment between 10:00am and 5:00pm in Burton Market Place. Shoppers will also be able to head inside the Market Hall, to browse stalls from an already sold out line up of local crafters and makers.

Victoria Crane, Event Manager of the Makers Market, said: ''We pride ourselves at the Makers Market in delivering delightful specialist events with many award winning local producers of unique goods set to inspire. We cannot wait to launch in Burton upon Trent and hope residents will join us on Saturday the 7th of December'.

The Makers Market, will be part of a bumper weekend of festive markets, which also features a Festive Food & Drink Festival, taking place on Sunday 8th December.
