Smithyseaglass
I collect local seaglass. I clean them and make them into a variety of jewellery & other items.
In the process of restocking my online Folksy shop. Photos are taken but it takes time to list each item. So far, these are all now available from Folksy.com/shops/SmithySeaGlas . More to follow as fast as my fingers allow. Thankfully the sun was out for long enough to take some suitable pics during the morning.
Although I want to set seaglass into resin, it seemed silly not to explore the components of the kit I had used as a starter. So gold decorations set in resin using a silicon mould but with coloured seaglass in them may become a regular product. Another trial run with white/clear seaglass in the smaller shape did not show up. So in this thickness of resin, it has to be coloured glass. Still figuring this all out. Also want to look at colouring the resin, I have a plan, but we all know that plans donβt always work first time. First craft market/fair is March 24th at Burton Constable, so time to work this through. ππ€ππ
Trialling seaglass and resin. First effort, so one for me to wear and be seen at markets/fairs. Seen some lovely SP βframesβ, so keep an eye on my listings this year. Happy New Year. ππ€ππ
Me, my children and my grandchildren all in one place on Friday. Dog lead and ball thrower just in picture. Needed a quick blow on the beach but tide too high. Still, made our own fun. All safely home again βοΈπ
Lovely morning to be out walking. North end of Withernsea gazing out to sea.
Stayed in the dry in Beverley yesterday at the Arts & Vintage Fair in the cafe bar at EastRiding Theatre. Great company from other amazing stall holders and people passing through. Thank you.
Last planned craft fair until the spring. So many ideas to explore and move forward with in those weeks, all using seaglass of course.
Keep in touch.

A lovely day, yesterday, at Hollym Christmas craft fair. The hall has just been officially reopened after an extensive revamp and it is looking lovely. Super atmosphere and, in view of the weather yesterday morning, plenty of people coming in all through the day. Such a friendly venue.
Well done to Katy and the team, stallholders who braved the worst of the ice to get set up and, of course, to the folk who came to look, buy or chat. See yβall next year, if not before π

The last tall seaglass Christmas tree cone in the process of being made at the kitchen table this afternoon. Final result to follow.
A lovely weekend at StPatrickβs Christmas fayre in Patrington. Great to see old friends and make new ones.
The picture of the tree is because the sunlight hitting it around lunchtime was dazzling.
Sincere thanks to the team who put this event together, all the volunteers who baked luscious cakes & savouries and gave their time to serve the many folk who came by, the stall holders for their efforts to create so many beautiful things and, of course, the folk from near and far who came in to see what we had all been up to in the last year. The church benefits from this event helping it stay at the heart of the village. Thank you everyone.

Looking for an unusual, unique gift? A near black seaglass pendant with a Sterling silver mount on a 22/24inch Sterling silver chain has its first showing this weekend on my stall at StPatrickβs Christmas Market in Patringon this weekend, 10-4.
A most unusual colour, other more usual greys shown alongside. With light shining through, this looks paler. Glass this colour was made for preventing sunlight damaging spirits such as brandy some 200 years ago and, of course, more decorative uses. It weighs around 25g and you can see in the pictures it is larger than a 50p piece.
Come and have a look.

Ready for Christmas?
The stormy weather at the peak high tide times have thrown up a lot of debris onto the tide line, just not a lot of seaglass. I dont often find limpet shells so that was a bonus this morning; some coloured pieces but still not a large collection for the day. Every little helps AND quality over quantity, I guess. ππ€ππ
