From 10th June 2024 in England, all pet cats over 20 weeks of age must be microchipped by law.

And it is equally important that you ensure your contact details are held on a reputable database, accessible 24/7 by both you and animal professionals.

With June just around the corner, all cats in England must be microchipped and registered on a DEFRA-compliant microchip database.

Microchipping is a safe and simple procedure. The microchip contains a unique identification number that lasts for your pet's lifetime. When scanned, this number can be used to locate your contact details on a microchip database, enabling a quick reunion if your cat is found.

What do you need to do?

✅ If your cat is already microchipped and registered, you're all set! No further action is needed.

❓ If you're unsure whether your cat is microchipped, make an appointment with your vet to discuss microchipping before the June 2024 deadline. It's a simple procedure that takes just a few seconds.
