All systems go for this townhouse garden nestled in the heart of the Cotswolds. Inspired by our clients’ love for engineering and matching the industrial interior of the home, we decided to be brave with the small garden space.
Our favorite part? Adding a floating bench and steps, creating a unique and functional feature.

One more sleep until I’m off to build my beautiful border at BBC Gardeners World Live- ‘The Earth Smiles with Flowers’.

Throughout the past year we have all learnt just how important an outdoor spaces are for self care and mental wellbeing.
My beautiful border is inspired by long and dreamy walks through the rolling meadows of the Cotswold’s and how we can create that feeling walking through our own gardens. The concept of my design is a naturalistic and whimsical cottage garden walkway, bringing the meadow style planting (mimicking the form of wild flowers) into the modern cottage style garden.

I can’t wait to see it come to life and share it with you all.
It may be raining outside but my mind is on summer colour and outdoor bbqs!

Shadows in the courtyard. Using oversized pots, blank walls and architectural planting is a simple and modern way of playing with light, scale & structure.

On the drawing board this week- A farmhouse courtyard with gorgeous views of farmland.
Brief- To create a modern courtyard garden for a U shaped converted farmhouse, incorporating the existing pleached trees, using wide paths, English country garden formality, mixed with meadow style planting mimicking the surrounding landscape.
The central seating area is essential for not only entertaining family and friends but to host business meetings outside when the British weather allows. A more relaxed area is located by the kitchen for evening fires by the reflection pool. Using materials that compliment house we’ve included beige clay pavers for the pathways & grey smooth limestone under the seating area.
