13th September is world sepsis day 🩷
Sepsis arises when the body’s response to an infection injures its own tissues and organs. It may lead to shock, multi-organ failure, and death – especially if not recognized early and treated promptly. Sepsis is the final common pathway to death from most infectious diseases worldwide.
My lovely, brave friend has just survived this horrific infection, after a very low chance of survival, but unfortunately, at the age of 24, has been left having to have multiple amputations 💔
The strength and resilience she has shown is not surprising to me what so ever and I am proud to call her my friend 🩷
I will be leaving the link to donate to The Sepsis Trust in my bio for the week. This charity helps people through sepsis recovery and bereavement 🙏
