We have an engineer on-site today, working on resolving the ongoing problems we have been having with our phonelines.

While this work is going on, we are experiencing intermittent problems where some calls are being cut off.

**IF YOU ARE ON THE PHONE TO RECEPTION OR A CLINICIAN AND YOUR CALL IS CUT OFF, WE WILL EITHER CALL YOU BACK TO CONTINUE THE CALL OR, IF APPROPRIATE, WILL SEND YOU A TEXT TO CONFIRM THAT YOUR REQUEST HAS BEEN ACTIONED**

We apologise for the inconvenience caused by this

A number of patients have reported to us that they have been cut off when trying to call the practice in recent weeks.

The engineer investigating these issues has established that when callers are connected to our phone lines, the line sometimes goes silent. This is leading callers to believe that they have been cut off when in fact, their call is still active and in the queue to be answered.

This engineer has not yet identified the cause of this problem and is continuing to investigate.

***In the meantime, if you are on the line waiting to get through to the practice and the line goes silent, please hold the line and your call will be answered by our reception team.***

We apologise for the confusion, frustration and inconvenience that this has caused, and we thank you all for your patience.

***Attention***

***Edit - our systems are now working again. Thank you for your patience this morning***

We are experiencing severe problems with our computer systems this morning. This is a problem affecting a number of GP practices and is being investigated as a high priority incident. We will update you as soon as the matter is resolved.

In the meantime, unless your issue is urgent, please can you wait to contact us until after 11am, when we hope to be up and running.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused by this

***eConsult***

We’d like to let you know about our eConsult service.

If you contact the surgery by telephone, our reception team will ask you to complete an eConsult if you are requesting advice from, or an appointment with a GP, or a non-routine nurse appointment.

eConsults enable you to contact us, at your convenience, from 6am-8pm from Monday to Friday. This means there is no need for you to queue on the phone and you can complete the consultation at your own pace, making sure you tell your GP or nurse everything you want to.

All eConsults are triaged, so patients with urgent needs are prioritised but you can also ask for help with non-urgent medical issues and for things like sick notes or general advice.

You will then be contacted directly by a GP, Advanced Nurse Practitioner or a member of our admin team, as appropriate.

The eConsult system assesses the information you provide, to ensure that you are directed to the right help, as quickly as possible. If your symptoms sound very serious, the system has been built with the clinical knowledge to know that you may need help more quickly than your Practice can provide - in these cases, it will stop you from completing your eConsult and suggest that you seek urgent medical advice.

You do not need to register to use the service, simply go to our website - thequaysurgery.co.uk - and scroll to the large blue ‘eConsult’ box that says ‘Contact your doctors online". Click on the word contact and follow the steps.
