With the winter turning to spring, and the sun shining, I’m sure we all feel like a sunflower; standing tall and enjoying the good weather. Just as a sunflower is a symbol of good weather, it’s also a symbol of Ukraine. Regardless of our divisions, I’m sure we can all spare a thought for those suffering

Last month I was commissioned to draw a beautiful Lupin flower, as part of a set of birth flowers for a family. The Lupin is an alternative birth flower to the gladioli and I loved getting to discover about a new flower and draw it.

One of the many things I am trying to get better at is taking photos of my work before I post them off to their new homes so for now this will have to do!

What are your New’s Resolutions? I’ve realised I am something of a perfectionist when it comes to drawing and designing. I hate posting something unless it is ‘perfect’, which sucks all the joy out of creativity. So this new year, I’m turning over a new leaf and hoping to be a little more free and impulsive when it comes to this design account.

Remember the foxglove commission I gave you a sneak peak of? Well here is the finished piece! I loved working on this commission and I think has been my favourite so far.

Daisy Daisy give me your answer do! The humble Daisy is the birth flower for April!

Daisies are pretty cool flowers, they belong to one of the largest families of plants in the world and are found everywhere except from Antarctica!

This print is part of my birth flower range available on my Etsy. It makes the perfect gift for any April born pals and can be personalised with a name and/or date!

Foxgloves are one of my absolute favourite flowers. I was asked to create a thank you card for a women who grows foxgloves so I couldn’t resist drawing them. I had so much fun playing with the colours and composition. Here’s a little sneak park for now of the final piece. Check back in a few days to see the whole thing.

Commissions are one of my favourite things to draw - I love being able to capture something special and personal for someone.

Last week I got an email from a customer who bought two of my sunflower pin badges for her granddaughters. They were to commemorate their mother’s 40th birthday, who has sadly passed away, as sunflowers were her favourite flowers. I was so touched that she chose my little badges for such a special reason. My pin badges are my best seller and I love packaging up each one!

Here’s some spring vibes to brighten up a grey and dreary day. I love the fleeting beauty of magnolia’s.

Spring is coming! I went for a walk on Monday in Wimbledon common and you could tell that all the blossom trees were about to pop and bloom. I love this time of year when new life springs up all around us. What is your favourite thing about spring?

Can someone tell me how it is March 3rd already?! Last time I checked it was still the middle of February! But March means it is officially daffodil season. This print is one of my favourites from my birth flower collection and it makes the perfect present for a March born pal. What’s more is you can personalise this with a name, date, quote or whatever you fancy!

The Chinese money plant (or the Pilea peperomioides) symbolises good luck and prosperity. It was first bought to the uk in 1906. It can be easily propagated which earned itself the nickname ‘pass it on plant’. The first known published image of it appeared in the Kew magazine in 1984.

I’m thinking of making it into a good luck card on my Etsy. What do you think?

I’ve given my pears an update with a clashing pink background. I have always loved clashing colours (just ask my sister she was often embarrassed by my outfit choices as a kid!) so thought my pear repeat pattern could do with an update!

Last week Naomi from shared a picture of a beautiful bouquet that she made. It was so dreamy that I couldn’t help but draw it. I love the soft pastel tones and the informal structure of it. I’m thinking of making this into a Mother’s Day card. What do you think?

This is one of my favourite quotes about creativity from Albert Einstein. Creativity is the use of imagination to create or invent something. My creativity has definitely increased this lockdown, and not just here on this account with my designs. My husband and I have been getting creative with our Saturday evening’s to make sure we still have fun. So far we have had an 80’s Vietnamese night, student night, and a craft night. It has been really fun coming up with new ideas and plans. Have you been more creative this lockdown?

Iris you all the happiness in the world!

I don’t know about you but for me last week and the weekend few by! Which means the first month on the year is nearly already over. And another month means a another flower! February’s birth flower is the beautiful Iris. They have been around along time... they can be seen in a fresco painting located in King Minos’ palace of the island of Crete in Greece, which was built around 2100 BC. They also happen to be one of my aunts favourite flowers!

Happy January! With the January blues and lockdown 3.0 that might sounds pretty countercultural right now! But my sister commissioned me to send to design this card to spread a little lockdown love to her friends. I love how it turned out so much that I have popped it on my Etsy for you all as well. It is designed to be sent straight to the recipient (like a Moonpig card) with a message from you printed inside. So if you have a friend who is feeling blue why not spread a little love and send it to them!
