Prior to being selected as a candidate, I had assumed that the campaign and the focus of the election was ‘all about the candidate’. I was wrong. I know, as candidate, I play a part, but the real energy and drive is from the dozens of people who have stepped up and volunteered to support: handing out leaflets, telephoning, putting up signs, calls of moral support and encouragement – and more. If we are successful – and I believe we have made huge gains and have made this a close race – it is completely because of the amazing support by so many of you. It is humbling, and I am so very grateful for all you have done.

The team of other candidates in Oxfordshire have also been amazing, sharing ideas and offering empathy in both good and challenging situations. We can’t ask for a better team, and I hope to discover on Sunday, after the count, that we will all be serving on the Council together!

I also want to make a special thanks to those in our community who have endorsed me. Also, Jo Robb and Peter Dragonetti from the Green Party. I trust the LibDem partnership with the Greens will thrive and flourish – and personally, I look forward to working with both, to learning from them, to sharing ideas and driving initiatives that are right for our beautiful rural community.

No matter the outcome, a very big thanks. I am incredibly proud of and grateful for the work we’ve done.

His thoughts about a fairer, greener and more caring society
-plus specific ideas on how to deliver those - were particularly appreciated.

It is time for change. We need to better support our rural communities.

In July 2016, the conservative led Oxfordshire County Council scrapped all subsidies for bus services. 54 routes were stopped altogether, while many more were reduced. It was devastating. These buses were lifelines to our villages, providing access to jobs, shopping, friends and community. We need our rural buses back, urgently. Please vote Councillor Bryan Urbick on May 6th and help us reconnect Oxfordshire.

Tories to cut £2m from pupil premium in Oxfordshire 29/04/2021

https://t.co/NIvvA1GQth - The previous cuts to education were unsustainable and hit hard Oxfordshire schools. This further £2M makes things even worse. Clearly the priority of the Tories isn’t aligned with that of the local electorate. They are completely out of touch. It is well-past time for change.

Just two weeks until the election, and postal votes should arrive in the next couple days. It looks like it will be a tight race, so please make sure your voice is heard. It's time for change on the Oxfordshire County Council, and I am asking for your vote to help bring about that change.

Council refuse to apologise for £1.6m parking payout 10/04/2021

https://www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/19216218.council-leaders-asked-apologise-1-6m-parking-payout/ - this is really shameful. The Conservatve-led Council is NOT a ‘safe pair of hands’. It is time for change.

Oxford to Cambridge expressway project cancelled as Transport Secretary looks to alternative plans for improving transport in the region 18/03/2021

The Oxford-to-Cambridge Expressway has been cancelled. This is a win for Lib Dem campaigning, but more importantly, a massive win for our residents who were very much against this Tory-led idea. The plan, though certainly too costly, failed to address the real needs of our community: affordable housing to support families and young people; and a much needed greener transport infrastructure.

We can do so much better. And though it is good that the government finally announces the cancellation, we will need to keep an eye on the 'alternative plans' that are being considered...

Oxfordshire County Council pays £1.6m in parking contract row 13/03/2021

I have been holding off posting this until I was able to learn more.
Sadly, the full independent report is not being made available.
In other words, the Conservative-led County Council has WASTED £1.6m on a botched contract and legal costs because of their MISMANAGEMENT. There is so much that our communities could have done with that money. It's absolutely TIME FOR CHANGE. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-oxfordshire-56187024

If you haven't yet signed the petition to stop the power plant in-between South Stoke and Goring, please do. Though in its description it pretends to be 'green', it is not: it is simply a fossil-fuel-fired plant. If you'd like more details, please message or e-mail me. https://www.oxonlibdems.uk/saynotoplant

We have too much speeding in our villages and residential areas. Young children, older pedestrians and cyclists benefit most when speed limits are reduced to 20mph.

The risk of a pedestrian being killed following a collision falls from 50 per cent if the car is travelling 35mph to 20 per cent at 30mph to 2.5 per cent at 20mph.

It's time for change. Twenty is plenty.

I'm both humbled and excited to be standing for the Oxfordshire County Council as the Lib Dem candidate in the Goring division this May.

If we don’t think differently and find creative ways to address the challenges we face, then nothing will get better and we will have more of the same. The Conservatives have led the Council for many years. It's time for change.

We need to:

1) develop innovative ways to meet local needs with regard to genuine affordable housing and infrastructure while at the same time protecting the rural communities and the remarkable countryside;

2) provide improvements to cycling, walking, public transport as well as vehicles on the roads (potholes!), footpaths, bridleways and other ways we get around;

3) better communicate with and represent the local community to actively engage with local needs and problems to help find solutions

I will do all I can to earn your vote - and ask that you join me in bringing about the needed change to create a better future for all of us in the Goring division.
